CRO tip ⚡ Still haven't switched away from Google Optimize? You only have 2 weeks to choose another A/B testing tool to use instead! 😲 Two of the best alternatives are @Convert and @VWO. But which is best for your needs? To help you decide, ask yourself these 4 important questions: 1️⃣  How much can you afford?  Are you willing to spend at least $99-199 per month on an A/B testing tool, or will it be hard to get any budget for it? 2️⃣ How many users do you need to test per month?  Check how many users you need per A/B test using the calculator link below, then multiply that by how many tests per month you need . Bear in mind that 100K users is often only enough for 1 or 2 tests per month. vwo.com/tools/ab-test-… 3️⃣ How advanced are your targeting segment needs?  How often do you need or want to do targeting in your A/B tests for segments like repeat customers or by geographic region? 4️⃣  Is cost your only consideration?  How important to you is the best tool user experience, upgraded support, and better onboarding when using an A/B testing tool? Then review each of these statements to see whether Convert or VWO is best for your needs: ✅ If you can’t get any budget for an A/B testing tool, and are okay with only doing 1 test per month, use the VWO free plan (unless you want to target advanced segments, as it only includes targeting by URL or device). ✅ If you are doing over 2 tests per month, the VWO free plan will likely not include enough traffic for you (only 50K users). Your lowest cost option is the Convert Community plan at $199 per month as it includes 100K users. ✅ If you are doing over 4 tests per month, go with the Convert Growth plan of $699 per month which includes 500K users. The VWO cost for 500K users is much more expensive for similar features, at $2001 per month. ✅ If cost isn’t your only consideration, and you want the best tool user experience, better onboarding and upgraded support, then go with a VWO plan, as they are currently better than Convert (although their user interface is good once you get used to its simplicity). Once you have decided, I have also arranged deals with both VWO and Convert to offer extended and upgraded free trials: 💎 VWO offer: Upgraded free trial with 45 days instead of 30 days, plus 50% extra users during it. Use this link 👉 bit.ly/richpagevwo 💎 Convert offer: Upgraded free trial with 30 days instead of 14 days. Use this link 👉 bit.ly/richpageconvert Both of these tools don't require CC details to begin a free trial, so I suggest you give both a try and see which is better for your needs. I also created a full comparison between these two tools and Google Optimize, including pros and cons for each and pricing. rich-page.com/cro/google-opt… Feel free to reach out to me if you have specific questions about either of these tools - I'm happy to help you! #ABtesting #CRO

@Rpaulindaigle Very impressive video, and those landing pages you have created are excellent! It would be really interesting to see any A/B test results that you have relating to those, and how they compare to sending traffic to product pages and category pages. I'm sure they did very well.

@dtcpages And I just noticed their pricing is much higher than Convert for stores that have over 5000 transactions per month, which many bigger online stores easily do. Does $1.4K per month justify the pricing and offers testing?

What is the best A/B testing tool? At DTC Pages we use a handful of tools, but for individual Shopify stores I recommend starting with Intellgiems. It let's you test: - Site content (copy and UI) - Landing pages - Themes - Prices - Offers - Shipping thresholds

CRO tip ⚡ Get better user testing feedback from your target audience by writing screener questions that can't be guessed. Why? 🤔 Unfortunately testers on user testing tool panels are often just looking to earn more money and take as many tests as possible. So some bend the truth, and try to guess the answer that gets them accepted to take the test. Meaning they aren't really your target audience, and therefore will likely give poor feedback. And it happens more than you might think! Therefore you need to make it much harder to guess the answer that is accepted. That means you will get better and more relevant feedback. How? 🤔 ✅ Don't make it obvious what the accepted answer to your screener question would be ✅ Don't just use a simple 'yes' or 'no' screener question, as they can be guessed very easily ✅ Use multiple choice answers, with a few dummy responses that will get guessers rejected ✅ Ask a follow-up screener question to ensure they haven't just guessed the first one correctly ❌ Example of an easily guessable screener question: Would you consider buying merino wool clothes? Yes (accept) No (reject) ✅ Improved version of this that can't be guessed so easily, that is split into two separate questions: 1️⃣ Which of these best describes you: - I frequently buy lower priced clothes (reject) - I usually buy only the clothes brands I know (reject) - I would spend more on a high quality t-shirt (accept) - I don't like to buy clothes online (reject) 2️⃣ How much would you spend on a high quality t-shirt: - No more than £20 (reject) - Between £20-£30 (reject) - Over £30 (accept) So next time you do user testing, try improving your screener questions like this. You will likely get much better feedback that will help create much better website improvement and A/B testing ideas 💪 #CRO #usertesting #usabilitytesting #UXresearch

CRO tip ⚡ Here are 10 signs that your ecommerce website has conversion problems - without needing GA4 to find out! 1⃣ Your product descriptions are long text blocks with no bullet points 2⃣ You've not recently surveyed your customers to discover their issues 3⃣ You compete with Amazon but you don't offer free delivery 4⃣ Your products have less than 10 reviews with no customer images 5⃣ Your users can't choose multiple category page filters at once 6⃣ Your product images don't let user zoom in to clearly see details 7⃣ You use technical words or jargon that users often won't understand 8⃣ You've not done user testing to get target audience feedback 9⃣ You don't explain whether users have to pay for return delivery 🔟 You've never had an expert in CRO or UX review your website Do any of these sound familiar? Come on, be honest 😉 #ecommerce #CRO #GA4 #UX

CRO tip ⚡ Want to launch many A/B tests per month but don't have enough development resources? Discover these great ways to help you do this 💪 ✅ While I recommend using the code editor in A/B testing tools as often as possible, create some simple A/B tests in the visual editor that involve improving wording and imagery, for example, your product descriptions or homepage hero image. You won't need developers to do this, but ensure you do good enough QA though, as visual editors can often break how websites look on different devices in particular. ✅ Use a platform like Upwork to find low cost A/B test developers while you find more full-time resources. Be sure to find ones who have good experience in A/B testing development and not just regular website development, as this will speed up the time needed to create tests, and reduce the risk of tests breaking things on your website. ✅ Find a good A/B test development agency to outsource to if you would prefer to always use external expertise, or if you want to do that while you increase your internal resources. These specialist agencies can often build tests much faster and more often than your own developers can, including high quality QA. I recommend @EchologyxLtd who do great work at a much lower cost than you might expect. ✅ If you are lacking budget to gain more development resources, you need to start working on increasing that, along with getting more buy-in from senior management. One simple way to do that is by borrowing 10% of your marketing budget for a few months to prove ROI from doing more A/B testing. I recently discussed this in more detail along with other ideas to increase budget and buy-in: x.com/richpage/statu… So how many A/B tests are you currently launching per month, and how many would you prefer to be doing? These tips will help you launch at least 2 or 3 A/B tests per month and start increasing your website conversion rate and revenue much faster. #ABtesting #CRO

CRO tip ⚡ Don't force your website visitors to give their email address before they can use your live chat to ask a quick question! 🚫😕 Why not? 🤔 Asking visitors for their email often acts as a barrier for them to ask quick questions that might help them purchase. And you get less feedback. For example... A visitor is interested in one of your products, but they can't find details on a particular feature. Or they don't understand your returns policy. So they open up live chat to ask for more details, but see they have to give their email first before using it. And they aren't happy. But why? Like many people, they don't like giving their email away so easily because they don't want to be bombarded with marketing emails. So they leave your website, go back to Google, and find a competitor who explain things better, and buy from them instead. This means you lost out on a potential sale. And this can be happening many times a day without you knowing it, meaning a lot of lost revenue. And because this often stops your visitors from asking questions, it means that when doing an analysis of live chats to find the top issues (an important way of doing conversion research), you don't get many chats to analyze. Meaning less feedback to turn into ideas for A/B tests and website improvements! The only time you need to ask visitors for their email in live chat is when you have found out they are a customer that wants support or help with their order, or when you need to get back to them later with an answer. So check if your live chat requires visitors to give their email address before they can ask questions. You may be surprised, as many tools like Gorgias and Zendesk have this turned on by default, or someone may have recently turned it on. If you find it's required, explain to your customer support team why it's better to have it turned off. #CRO

Well done! That is exactly why I'm such a huge fan of doing conversion research. In that upsell section, did you consider adding in a product page link for each one, so they can learn more before adding them? The overview text is good, but won't be enough for many users, and while the illustrations are good, many users will want to see actual images before buying.

Still not prioritizing qualitative customer research? This cross-selling feature added 6 figures in monthly revenue for Moon Pod - and the idea came from website polls. Turns out, Meta traffic was being directed to Moon Pod's main PDP. The ad creatives featured these 2 additional products, but they were not visible on the PDP. And through website polls we ran, people kept asking, "What are these other products I keep seeing in the ads?" They could find them through the nav bar, and going to a collection page, but the point is, most people were not doing that and were still asking. We tested a few iterations and landed on this, added in the ATC section of the brand's main product. Massive win.

CRO tip ⚡ Not sure how to get more budget and buy-in for launching many more A/B tests per month? Here are some great ways to help you do this 💪 ✅ Borrow 10% of your marketing budget for a few months to prove ROI from more A/B testing. Let your marketing director know that by borrowing this budget it will also benefit them because a better website conversion rate increases their return on ad spend. ✅ Show your boss and senior executives the likely ROI of running more A/B tests. Calculate the potential revenue impact from increasing your conversion rate faster with more A/B tests launched per month. You should also remind them of any particularly good previous A/B test results, or if you have proof that your competitors are A/B testing. ✅ Meet anyone senior who have A/B testing objections (like CTOs and head of brand) and help them understand the benefits of doing it, particularly in relation to their role. E.g. CTOs will like that it reduces the risk of launching improvements that may not work as well as expected. ✅ Try to find A/B testing champions in your business who understand the great impact of it, and get them to help influence senior leaders to do more A/B testing. Finding champions at the senior level like managers or directors will help even better. You could even incentivize these champions by offering to buy them lunch or coffee regularly. Gaining this increased buy-in and budget will help upgrade your A/B testing tool to one that has better features or more monthly users, reduce pushback from your boss and senior executives when you are trying to launch A/B tests, and also help you gain more developer resources to launch A/B tests faster. #ABtesting #CRO
