My design agency’s minimum rate is $60,000. Here’s the truth: Expensive clients must be treated different. Follow these 6 rules if you want to start working with high-ticket clients:

Just Listened to a podcast where Chris do hosted @richwebz I loved the part where Rich narrated his life story, that was the part that had me stop what I was doing to listen keenly and learn. I was drawn to his life transformation story. Rich just got a huge fan here. ♥️

Rich Webster's email course content is a masterpiece. It's a must-read if you're interested in creating a course for yourself in 2024. Check out these 6 tips (with examples) so you can create an email course that educates, learns and sells while you sleep... ---------------------- Unique subject "tag" ---------------------- A subtle, but great addition to an email course. You train the eye to see your unique tag and know what's in store (like Rich's 6FSS in each day's subject). I love using emoji's if it works with the brand, but a 3-4 letter combination is also a great approach. Pretty simple, so let's go deeper... --------------- Future-pacing --------------- In each day's intro and close, Rich does an amazing job future-pacing for the reader. What do I mean by that? • The intro sets the stage for the day's lesson • The close recaps the day's lesson and teases what's next Taking the time for both of these each day makes the course feel like it flows together like a story, instead of each day feeling like a separate blog. This creates a more interesting experience for the reader. Now, check out this engagement booster... ----------------------- Actionable takeaway ----------------------- At the end of day 1, Rich leaves you with a "Burnout Thermometer" quiz. A huge misconception about an email course is that an email course is a standalone lead magnet. But it doesn't have to be. And this is a perfect example of weaving other "lead magnets" into the daily content of an email course to engage with readers even more. And onto my favorite little hack... ---------------- Time machine ---------------- Power to the reader. The time machine let's the reader decide if they're going to jump forward to the next day right away or wait 24 hours until the next email arrives. Either way, this upgrade is incredibly valuable for reasons I described yesterday-- Check out that post here: x.com/drewwrites_/st… But we're not done talking about the time machine... ------------------------- Time machine redirect ------------------------- This is a part of your email funnel I consider "prime real estate". Why? Because the readers who are using the time machine are highly engaged readers! So you can use this redirect to: • Build more trust • Deepen relationships • Make the reader laugh • Collect more data Rich does this perfectly with a fun gif and a survey. I do have one upgrade to consider... -------------- A lot of links -------------- At the bottom of day 1 there's links to: • A quiz • The time machine • Two links to a survey • And a soft-sell of his paid course That's 5 links in a tight space. Many readers will see all of these options and decide to choose none of them, which is a missed opportunity! ------- Recap ------- Amazing work from Rich. This course has been top notch from the start. I highly recommend you study this course (and my breakdown) before you create your own email course! -------------------------------------------------- That's a wrap on this email course breakdown -------------------------------------------------- Who's funnel (email course or not) do you want to see broken down next? Drop me a link below!

I've studied 100s of email courses over the past 6 months. And yesterday, I dove into Rich Webster's... Here's 6 lessons from his landing page you can use right now to improve your lead magnet's opt-in rate and "ideal client ratio". Grab your notebook and pencil. Let's dive in... ------------------------- What did Rich do well? ------------------------- Calls out the audience in the title. You can't miss it! "Soloprenuers & Freelancers" is the first thing you see when you arrive at his landing page. Perfect way to get the attention of his ideal subscriber. Opt-in above the fold. This is simple, but often over-looked. Make it as easy as possible for a visitor to opt-in. The best way to do that is to put the opt-in "above the fold" (which means you don't have to scroll down to submit your email). Specific promise. Rich's promise for this course is crystal clear. Opt-in to his email course and you'll receive the knowledge to "run TWO multi-six-figure solo businesses in under 20 hours a week". Sounds interesting to me! Pretty damn good! So what did he miss? ----------------------------- 3 Upgrades Rich can make ----------------------------- More specific topic. Rich says the word "systems" three separate times. But as a reader, I'm left wondering what kind of systems? Notion? AI? Automation? Systems is a start, but I bet Rich could get another layer deep on what "systems" he's sharing. Add a "whisper". A "whisper" is a subtle way add trust or remove doubt from your reader's mind. Here's one way he could add a "whisper" to his title: Stop Trading Your Time For Money Steal the exact systems I use to run TWO multi-six-figure solo businesses in under 20 hours a week (Even if you're just starting your business!) The first doubt a reader might have after reading this title is "I don't need this yet, I'm just starting my business." This simple sentence removes the doubt and increases the chance of an opt-in. That's the goal of a whisper, and it's very effective. Add credibility. I don't know Rich, but from what I can tell he's a sharp dude. A new follower checking out this landing page wouldn't get any confirmation Rich is an expert they should listen to. A simple quote about Rich's expertise would send his opt-ins through the roof. ------------------------- That's a wrap on part 1! ------------------------- I'll be back tomorrow with a breakdown on Rich's "thank you redirect" page A sneak peak: Rich crushed it (but there's one huge upgrade) Thanks for reading! Mind clicking all the buttons below? Appreciate ya. See ya tomorrow for part 2 👋

I've learned a LOT about myself and business since accidentally becoming a freelance Webflow developer. In fact, my list got real big real quick... so I'll be releasing some of my favorite lessons learned over the next few days. Here is today's list: 1) Business is a mental game. Learn how to play the game well. Don't get me wrong, you need to be great at your craft too... But from a broader perspective, your success in business (and ultimately life) is directly associated with your psychology. For example: Your capacity to make more money right now is dictated by your ability to say bigger numbers on your sales calls. Your capacity to manage stress and make sound decisions under pressure is dependent on your ability to manage your own thoughts and emotions. Your capacity for strategic thinking is directly linked to the clarity of your thoughts. Master your mind to excel in business. Embrace new challenges, trust your ability to figure things out, celebrate your wins (even the tiny ones), reframe your "failures", and prioritize clarity. --- 2) It's seriously important to take care of yourself (physically, mentally, spiritually) as a business owner. Taking care of yourself increases your overall clarity and confidence. It also helps you to stand in your own power and remember that you are worthy of the good things that come to you, including the money you ask for. If you're like me, you started your business because you hated working for employers and you wanted more freedom — to work WHEREVER you want WHENEVER you want with WHOEVER you want doing WHATEVER you want. Now you're the one running the show, so build an aligned business that works FOR you, and don't be a shitty boss to yourself... Be the boss you wish you had — a boss that celebrates your wins, is patient and understanding when you make mistakes, and happily lets you take time off when you need it. Speaking of... --- 3) It's safe for you to close your computer and stop working. I promise. It's so easy to fall into the trap of hustling day and night to build your business because that's what some gurus on the InTeRnEt say is necessary to succeed. But guess what... working ridiculous hours for weeks and months on end has diminishing returns (a fact backed by science) and almost always leads to burnout. YOU are way more than your business/career... You're a freakin' human being, not a machine. Overworking yourself is not the answer. Taking breaks to give yourself space to think clearly and then prioritize the right tasks that will move the needle faster — that is the answer. If you're consistently putting in the work and trusting the process, know that good things are still coming to you even while you aren't actively working... Real talk, whenever I decide to take time off to relax (I'm talking multiple days) I ALWAYS return to a larger than normal influx of project injuries. It's honestly kind of crazy. I'm curious, do these resonate with you at all?

There are 3 topics I'm actively thinking about a lot these days: Topic #1: One-Person Business In my experience, building a business is the most direct path to freedom — of time, money, relationship, energy, and purpose. I was simply not built to work for other people... In fact, I hate working for employers so much that my average stay at almost every job I've ever had was a meager 8 months. But I struggled to build a profitable business for 8+ years until I finally found success as a freelance Webflow developer. Now, 18 months later I'm launching a Webflow development agency, @unrealdevstudio! However, this is only the beginning... I LOVE building things and I have a few exciting projects in the works that I'm excited to share. Topic #2: Lifestyle Design What's the point of building a successful business if you stop LIVING during the process? I've been the person who worked 120+ hours hunched over a computer for 10 straight days and it sucked... I made over $19k that month, and for the first time, I very clearly saw that no amount of money earned matters if you're completely miserable in the process. This year I intend to exponentially increase my income while dramatically reducing the amount of hours worked. Shoutout to @richwebz for planting the seed of working less and earning more! Topic #3: Metaphysics + Spirituality Around 9 years ago I had a spiritual awakening that completely altered the way I perceived the world. My life opened up and changed for the better in every way imaginable in mere weeks. However, once I started becoming obsessed with building a business for myself I began to slowly sink back into my old ways of thinking and perceiving. I feel strongly that the next step in my evolution is to bring my upgraded understanding of myself and reality into the world of business. It would be great to connect with other people who are interested in these same topics — so if any of the above resonates, feel free to reach out!

My 2023 year in review • Quit smoking & vaping • Lived with my gf in Lisbon • Hired and fired my first contractor • Founded my operating LLC in Wyoming • Saved $30K in taxes by living in Portugal • Invested 5+ figures in coaching and courses • Moved back home to the Caribbean to be closer to parents • Delighted my anchor client all the way from $35/hr to a $10K/mo retainer What I learned Progress can happen way faster than you expect, but you still need to be patient The thing I've been procrastinating on for weeks takes way less time to do than I imagine Failing is not the worst that can happen, it's just a data point I need to use to become better My ability to make more money is only limited by my own inability to just say the big number 2024 Challenges • Become the go-to email guy for #Web3 gaming • Build a solid team of contractors (VA, writers, sales) • Limit alcohol consumption to special events • Save & invest 20% of my monthly revenue • Achieve a consistent mid-5 figure MRR • Get back to 10-12% bodyfat Will report back EOY!

Most solopreneurs try to scale by getting more customers. Bad idea. They end up maxed out on time AND money. Instead, scale by increasing price. You’ll make more money, & work less hours. I explain why on this week’s podcast. 🎧 Listen here: therichwebstershow.transistor.fm

Guess what? There's a 90% chance you sell a Service. So, tell me: Why are you selling it like a Product? I mean, I know the answer. It's because all but like 3.5 Sales dudes here don't know how to sell anything but products. So, your timeline is filled with glorified door-to-door salesmen convincing you that it's your smooth words and psychological tricks that make the difference. These same people will tell you that the EXACT tools that every successful business uses—brand strategy, marketing, relationships—don't help you land customers. Nope, just mental frameworks, smooth words, and objection handling secrets. Ugh. Shove a hot fucking fork into my left eye and twist it. Look. You're not selling vacuum cleaners. YOU'RE NOT SELLING MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTIONS IN 2007. You're selling valuable services to people who need them and who are willing to pay for them. More importantly: You're selling relationships. Ah, there it is. That dirty, dirty word. Relationships. You know, like how your service requires time and conversations and collaboration with your clients? It's a little different than the one-and-done products that you can sell to nameless millions if you wanted to. Don't you think? Guess who cares least about relationships? Right. That sales guy who treats every day like another opportunity to add to his body count because he wants those sales numbers for bragging rights to his equally smarmy sales bro "friends." He dreams of the day when he can look at them and yell "Coffee is for closers!" like he's the hero of the dumbest scene in modern film. Look it up. Listen to me: I know you want to succeed in business. I know you want quality customers with steady work. I know you want to work with people who aren't actual demons. You wouldn't follow me if you didn't. Your success hinges on one fundamental thing: Your ability to create, manage, and leverage relationships. When you approach people like these transactional nutbars do, you specifically eliminate your ability to form relationships. Because I'm a benevolent dictator, I put together some guidelines for building relationships: Commit to giving a damn about people You know what's going to make you the best at your service? When you tie it to a deep commitment to helping other people. I'm telling you right now, if you don't cultivate this for yourself, there's no amount of money that will fill that hole in your heart even if you do gain it. Know who you can actually help with your service You see, the road to Hell is paved with good intentions. If you truly want to help people, you need to find a way to actually make it happen—i.e., find customers. You must pick the exact person you can help. Want to know how: Go find The Josh and Torrey Show on YT and watch the episode on Niche. Thank me later. Talk with people Read any list of replies to any random post, and it's an epic shitshow of robotic, boring, and incoherent responses. Literally NO ONE says this kind of crap in person to another human. And for what? Table scrap engagement boosts? Trade this nonsense for a genuine desire to connect with the person posting. Forget "adding value" and all that. Just strike up a conversation like you would if you met this person in a coffee shop. ACT NATURAL, DAMNIT. Build a web with you in the middle Forming relationships will give you a 1:1 connection with valuable people who know more people. Here's something else: It allows you to start connecting people together. Do you understand how valuable this is? When your friend has a need, and you say, "Hey, Lisa can help with that. I'll connect you." Guess what happens? You become someone who helps people get things done. I cannot overemphasize the importance of being someone who always has the resources at the time they're needed. Expect nothing Here's my definition of insanity: Spending all day ignoring cold DMs and hail-mary sales pitches on the timeline... Then literally sending cold DMs and hail-mary sales pitches when selling your product. What do you expect? The prospect is gonna be like, "OH, I didn't realize it was YOU! I was planning to ignore this garbage like everyone always does, but since it's YOU, I'm totes all-in!" C'mon. It's the fastest way to get nowhere and you know it. What to do instead? Help people. Show up and help people without any expectations. You know what happens? You get to actually demonstrate your skills and you start to build trust. Oh, and one final bonus point: Relationships form a lot faster when people know what you're about. When it comes to social media, this is easy: Get your profile and your content aligned around a central idea. Hammer that idea home every day. Give a damn about something. I hear that works wonders. I get that this is all heresy here. But, "he who hath ears, let him hear."
