I spent 18 months and had numerous face to face meetings warning MPs and ministers that the U.K. urgently needed to build battery factories otherwise Rules of Origin would make our motor industry uncompetitive. But Govt was too busy with their vainglorious popularity contest.

@LanceForman @111cb @LanceForman Have you heard of something called the "financial crisis" or "credit crunch"...it happened sometime between 2007 and 2008. You might have missed it. Anyway the graph starts in 2010..just as companies are recovering from that. Think about it.

The chancellor has defended higher corporation tax rates claiming lower rates do not increase business investment. These two graphs below demonstrate otherwise. As tax rates fell investment rose and as they stabilised so did investment.
