@rickysworldview Appreciate the detailed info. It’s heartbreaking and I hope the authorities can uncover the motive soon to give some clarity to the families and community

Well, other than a few rumors, I’m not hearing anything confirmed yet and the police chief stated that they are still working on a motive. The two teenagers that were involved died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds. So they will have to look into their social media accounts and close friends and relatives to figure out what their motives were.
Gov. Gavin Newsom announced on social media he was briefed. San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria urged public to avoid area & said authorities would release more info soon. SDPD announced shooter neutralized. 1 possible death (bldg sec guard per Islamic Center chair), unconfirmed by PD.

@spencerpratt@guypbenson Yeah, anyone that has a right mind would know it is better to be in a safe home regardless if it’s your parents home, especially with kids. There are also of heartless people out there in the world and they even are among the journalism field.
My house burned down. I lost everything. I can’t rebuild. As a 42 year old man with 2 kids, I’ve had to move into my parents’ house, and I’m getting attacked for that? This is journalism? This is why no decent people ever get into politics. This is why you only have goblins running everything. God help you if you try to make things right for your community…if you lose your entire town, “journalists” mock you for not making your kids sleep in the toxic dirt on your burned out lot. Who raised you, dude?
I've got a bad feeling that this Ebola outbreak is already enormous and that the official figures are just the tip of the iceberg.
Resources need to pour in ASAP and get a grip of this which means ramping up testing and setting up treatment units
FAST
@CDCgov At this point, I think it would be wise just to have those extra thorough checks on anyone coming in internationally. Anyone who was exposed to it may have very well flew home to their home country and then a week or two later flying over into the U.S.
CDC and federal partners are implementing proactive public health measures to help prevent the introduction of Ebola disease caused by Bundibugyo virus (BDBV) into the United States. These actions include enhanced traveler screening and monitoring, coordination with airlines and ports of entry, strengthened hospital and laboratory readiness, and continued deployment of CDC teams to support outbreak response efforts abroad.
Effective immediately, additional entry restrictions will apply to non-U.S. passport holders who have traveled through affected areas in Uganda, the DRC, or South Sudan within the past 21 days.
CDC assesses the risk to the general U.S. public as low. Travelers from affected areas should monitor their health for 21 days and seek medical care immediately if symptoms such as fever, weakness, vomiting, diarrhea, or unexplained bleeding develop. Read more about travel restrictions: cdc.gov/ebola/situatio…
@BugateCate@outbreakupdates Bundibugyo strain is very rare and not fully studied so keep that in mind too. We could be hearing new developments for days to come.
What we should focus on in the Ebola story is the convergence of conflict zone transmission, healthcare worker exposure and cross border spread
It’s not looking good at all
Dry surfaces (plastic/metal): Several hours.
Moist environments (body fluids): Up to 6 days under ideal laboratory conditions.
Porous/Medical materials: Some studies found the virus can last up to 11 days on plastic and 14 days on Tyvek protective gear in climate-controlled conditions.
Exactly how would spillover not have any chance of coming to America? Many people from america travel over that region and come back. If other countries around Africa does not monitor And detect this thing people will be flying out all over and pass the infections. The WHO already is not very ain't how much of overspill might have happened because its in heavy populated areas and where tourists visit.
@DrNeilStone I think you're correct that the spread will most likely be regional, which of course is bad for the people living in that area. But more widespread spillover could occur across Africa and possibly beyond if it reaches Kinshasa, the capital of the DRC.
If you live in DR Congo 🇨🇩, Uganda 🇺🇬, or other countries in the Central /East Africa region , Ebola is a real concern .
I doubt it will spread far beyond that region but millions of people live there and I'm concerned for them .
If people start leaving from there and coming to America with it then we need to start worrying. It spreads by fluids which includes sneezing and coughing and then the particles land on surfaces. If someone comes along and touches it they most likely catch it. They are not certain who and how far people in contact actually went because it is in heavy populated areas. Tourist locations at that. So hopefully they can find all those people exposed and quarantine them and trace their tracks quickly. So far we are in the clear and hope it stays that way. The 6 Americans over there are a till there and will be carefully brought back to America and probably quarantine for a few weeks.

What do we know about the Ebola outbreak in Congo and Uganda? Bundibugyo strain lacks approved vaccines or therapeutics. It’s also mostly a high alert for Africa and surrounding countries. Travel Advisory should be placed right away! @TravelGov.
