@pinealpaddy@The_Real_Fly Trump has always been about Trump.
And money.
If he's not being Putin's Puppet, he's Bibi's bitch.
Astonishing to see how many people still view him as the good guy.
@The_Real_Fly A year ago that would have made me furious, thinking about them drumming up fake charges.
Now they’ve got a legitimate case. Someone needs to jail the corrupt politicians who are throwing our blood and treasure into the abyss, Trump was supposed to be that guy. He joined them
Jenine Pirro was a great prosecutor before she became a colorful TV sage. She would be a powerful Attorney General. Todd Blanche could also do the job and probably have an easier route to confirmation.
@DonKeyusmc@GeraldoRivera If you say Matt Gaetz ...
Seriously isn't there someone not up Trump's ass who can do the job properly, which often will mean pissing off both sides so justice can be served?
Every day of this shitshow drops us deeper into the abyss.
@GeraldoRivera Pirro "a great prosecutor?"
Based on what major indictments and convictions of crime kingpins or insidious cartels or Wall St. swindlers?
@brisology@Conservative2TX@USronaldcarter@LABeachGal1 No the money owed to Iran was frozen by the U.S. as part of sanctions.
When an international court ruled it be released, Iran requested foreign currencies. The cash was transported by plane.
None of it was in U.S.$ and none of it was ever U.S. property.
I just got off the phone with someone who works in defense policy in Washington. What they told me should end every "Trump is reckless" argument permanently.
"Every single president since Clinton received the same intelligence briefing on Iran's nuclear timeline. Every single one was told the window was closing. Every single one chose to kick it down the road because the political cost of acting was higher than the political cost of waiting."
Trump got the same briefing. 60kg of 90% enriched uranium. 4 weeks to breakout. Material for 2 bombs.
He chose to act knowing it would tank his approval to 35%.
He chose to act knowing his own base would split.
He chose to act knowing NATO allies would refuse to help.
He chose to act knowing gas prices would spike.
A senior analyst I know at a major think tank put it this way: "The difference between Trump and every president before him isn't intelligence. They all had the same data. The difference is courage."
Read that again.
Every president had the same file on their desk. Only one opened it and did something.
I'll keep you updated. Turn on notifications. 🚨
@SilvanRehm@USronaldcarter The intel came from Israel, which certainly has a sophisticated spying apparatus but also, disturbing, its own agenda regarding certain Gulf neighbors.
@USronaldcarter did you read your own post?
presidents were told for 30 years that iran will have a nuke shortly and did not act.. yet iran still has no nuke.
this means one thing: the intel was crap...
@USronaldcarter So, if I am reading this correctly, Iran has been 4 weeks away from building a bomb for nearly 40 years? And never bothered to? So what changed now?
@realcopeaganda@USronaldcarter Amazing the Iranian nuclear threat went from completely obliterated to on the brink in six months.
Netanyahu then.
Netanyahu now.
I'm tired of Israel First.
Anyone else?
@USronaldcarter Iran has been 4 weeks away from nuclear bomb capabilities?
Lol…you’re just repeating Netanyahu talking points you fucking bozo
youtu.be/9zUG99zt3r8?si…
I compare Trump hitting IRAN now to Roosevelt attacking Japan BEFORE Pearl Harbor, or England hitting Hitler BEFORE he invaded Poland, or tightening up airline security BEFORE 9/11.
We in the West always seem to wait until AFTER the disaster to take action.
Trump is different.
@DeborahMoleswo1@laralogan@EFFE4USA It IS stopped doofus.
Construction cannot resume without Congressional approval of the plans and budgets.
His hand picked lackeys conducted this "vote."
Whoop-de-do.
Trump fired their predecessors.
@laralogan A local DC district judge has ko constitutional authority to intervene in the matter. As Trump clearly stated it’s fully funded by private donations. The judge claimed it needs Congressional approval is completely false. Congress is in charge of government budgets and finances.
@big_swanson@NicholasWahbe@laralogan And those costs are subject to review just in case there's someone interested in skimming off the top or writing blank checks.
@NicholasWahbe@laralogan Any significant structural change to the White House requires congressional approval. It’s not just about where the money is coming from.
@45Sheri@laralogan He does need Congressional approval which he does not have, which is why there won't be construction until he gets the plans and budgeting approved. Even if donors pay, those costs have to be scrutinized. No blank checks.
And FYI, the plans submitted are a complete clusterfuck.
@laralogan Sorry the issue is using the processes and means by which these things are done. He is not a king even though he wants to be.
His terrible taste and bad judgment and inept management will still be criticized.
Gowdy: We have to change our expectations of the attorney general. That's not an extension of a political operation. It should be a serious man or woman who follows the facts. We got to get the politics out of the department.
@dheimbrocklcsw@Acyn Trump could pardon someone who committed a crime following his instructions, but that could also mean disbarment, which a pardon cannot override.
@Acyn I think you’d have to crazy to take the job because it means violating the law in the name of Trump. You need a whacko fraudster attorney cut from the same cloth as his spiritual advisor for the position.
