There are strict laws on hijab and “modesty” for women in Iran — including morality police who can arrest girls/women on the spot or random vigilantes, The consequences faced by regular Iranian women are horrendous.

I've now watched dozens of videos of people shopping and out and about in Iran, and plenty of women don't have their hair covered. Iranians are well educated, modest, and respectful people. We've been sold propaganda and lies for years.

وصلتني رسائل كثيرة بعد مقالي الاخير عن تركيا… وبكل وضوح: أنا لم أدخل تركيا، ولن أدخلها. ذهبت إلى دول مجاورة لها… لكن لم أذهب إليها، ليس لشيء… بل حتى لا أُغيّر الفكرة التي تشكلت لدي عن الأتراك. الأمر عندي ليس سياحة… بل رغبة بالمحافظة على صورة الاسلام والمسلمين. لذلك بـ تجرّد : أنا كمسلم، أتابع الاحداث منذ وعيت، وكلما رأيت صراعًا بين حق وباطل، كان السؤال يتكرر: أين المسلمون؟ من ينصر الحق؟ من يقف في الجانب الصحيح؟ من يتحرك؟ وفي كل مرة تقريبًا… كان الجواب واحدًا: الأتراك. في أذربيجان… تساءلنا: من يدعمهم؟ فوجدنا تركيا. في السودان… حين تفجّرت الجرائم، ورأينا ما يقشعر الابداع، وجدنا تركيا تقف إلى جانب من يحاول إيقاف مجزرة الفاشر، ورأينا المسيّرات المباركة. وفي الصومال امس، وقفت تركيا في وجه اثيوبيا حتى قال الرئيس الاثيوبي "لن نحتل الصومال لان الاتراك هناك"! في سوريا… حين كان البلد يتشظى، وجدنا تركيا تتحرك لتثبيت الاستقرار ودعم حكومة الشرع وتيسير توحيد البلاد حتى باعوا سوريا الفقيرة اسلحة متطورة بالدين. وفي مصر سابقًا… وقفت تركيا مع من رأتهم شرعية وصناديق انتخاب من الاسلاميين وبقيت الى جانبهم سنوات حتى وهم خارج السلطة وفي السجون. هذه ليست احداثا عادية …ولا مواقف عابرة. هذا نمط يتكرر. ثم انظر اليوم… الليل والنهار، حركة دائمة، اتصالات، مواقف، محاولات لجمع الصف، حتى بات اسم هاكان فيدان مثلا يتكرر في كل مشهد عربي، إن ذُكر العرب… بحثنا عنه، ماذا قال؟ أين وقف؟ هذه ليست عاطفة فارغة كما يعتقد البعض…بل ملاحظة دقيقة للوزن التركي المتصاعد والشهامة السياسية الفريدة... ولذلك…الله يحب كلمة الحق... ولا يُلام مسلم إذا أحب تركيا، ولا يُستغرب إن مال لها. لأن الناس لا تحب الشعارات الفارغة… بل تؤمن بما تراه يتكرر باستمرار. فهمتم؟
