Getting this feedback in a Creative Strategist interview yesterday meant more than I expected. The agency told me my understanding of creative strategy and testing frameworks was stronger than some people who had already worked in creative strategy roles within ad accounts. I'm incredibly proud of that. It reminded me that time spent doing something isn't always the biggest advantage. Deliberate learning and being intentional with how you build your knowledge can take you further than simply spending more time in the role. Every hour I've spent studying, asking questions, and genuinely trying to understand the "why" behind the work gave me the confidence to walk into that interview. Here’s a #paidad for a sunglasses brand. 🕶️ I used the AIDA framework with a visual-first hook that immediately demonstrated the product’s biggest selling point: they don’t slip. Instead of saying it, I aggressively shook my head while wearing them, letting the product prove itself in the first few seconds. The ICP for this campaign was runners and beachgoers who want sunglasses they can trust to stay put during movement without constantly adjusting them. → Attention: A visual demonstration of the no-slip feature. → Interest: Show the sunglasses in the environment they’re designed for. → Desire: Highlight comfort, stability, and all-day wear while running and spending time at the beach. → Action: End with a clear CTA to check them out. Sometimes the fastest way to build trust is to show the benefit instead of talking about it. I just contracted over $3,200 in UGC projects for my Europe trip... ...and I leave in one week. In exactly two weeks, I'll be getting married. One week after that, @ugcwithmichele and I are heading to Europe, and I almost convinced myself it was too late to pitch any more travel brands. I figured most campaigns would've already been filled, and anything I sent would probably get ignored. I'm really glad I was wrong. Over the last week, I reached back out to repeat clients with travel concepts, sent a few intentional pitches to brands that genuinely fit the trip, and even had one brand reach out to me before I got the chance to pitch them because they'd been following my content. Now, I'm heading to Europe with over $3,200 in contracted work, a couple more collaborations already lined up, and another one still in the works. The biggest lesson for me wasn't "pitch more." It was that I almost let a story I made up in my head stop me from asking. Losing my Men’s League game didn’t take away from how special last Monday was. We had one of our biggest crowds yet, and for the first time in a while, my biggest supporter, my partner, was there cheering us on. I genuinely felt like I had an extra gear just knowing she was in the gym. Walking away, I realized that’s why having the right people in your corner matters so much. They remind you why you pour so much into the things you care about, even on the days the scoreboard doesn’t go your way.
