If you care about the science of reading, please take the time to learn about the cuts to NIH. NIH has funded much of the research on reading and it's heartbreaking to think of the work grinding to a halt... right at the time when public interest in its findings is so high.

NIH has announced a cut in the "indirect rate" to 15% across the board, in a move that appears to be retroactive to even existing grants. This is a bloodbath for research institutions throughout the country. Brief explainer for those not in this world: buff.ly/3EtML7D

These cuts will devastate the work I & so many others do for our most vulnerable children with disabilities. On a personal note, I was saved from aggressive breast cancer bc of the work #NIH funded. This will not make America great. This will devastate us ALL to the core.
