I understand @canonpress took @New_Dominion_DC off the open market by scooping him up full time, and so then who is doing top-notch graphic design and branding work for the Christian folk these days?

When a federal agency tasked with protecting all Americans decides to mandate a specific religious worldview, it ceases to protect democracy and begins to threaten it.

Are you mentally handicapped? The folks who were wrongly targeted, persecuted, held in prison, and abused by an unjust tyrannical regime who lied about everything and thought they could get away with persecuting their enemies, are the ones about to get compensated for what was done to them. That's a good thing.

@complainster No, no... We have no federal level official church. States could. Nice try at twisting it tho. We've always been a primarily Christian people and government, and as we've started from it, every single aspect of society has become worse. It's time we return back to Christianity.

@rileyadamvoth Exactly. We have no federal/state religion because of the diversity of our states and their inhabitants.

The "separation of church and state" nonsense is desperately abused by historically ignorant people who hate God. The context of the letter actually proves the opposite of what they think... Jefferson himself even explained in that letter that the word "state" was referring to the federal government, and the reason the federal government couldn't create an official religion was because the states had their own official churches at the time. This was the whole motivation for the writing of the letter in the first place. He was responding to the Connecticut Danbury Baptist association and their concerns BECAUSE THEY HAD AN OFFICIAL STATE CHURCH and wanted assurance they federal government would defend conscience rights under the 1st Amendment TO HAVE THEIR CHURCH! He assured them he understood why the federal government could not interfere. Most states even had requirements that you be Christian to hold public office. Jefferson and other founders weren't anti Christian / religion. They were explicitly protecting Christianity and Christian liberty.

@rileyadamvoth You do know the “wall of separation of church and state” words come from Jefferson, right? These folks were explicit that they weren’t founding a Christian nation.

That is literally written in their "holy book" well the opposite is written in the Christian holy book. Any Muslim not living toward that aim is opposing their own faith, which is why that is an extreme exception to find one that isn't. Any Christian living toward that aim as opposing their own faith, which is why it's an extreme exception to find one that is actually like that (there isn't an actual Christian that believes that).

@rileyadamvoth Come on. The vast majority of Muslims aren’t into that today. And an increasing number of American Christians are moving in that direction, if they aren’t yet there.

@JonathanL81419 Oh? Were Jews back then wanting to commit mass genocide and force all males to convert to a hate-filled false-god terrorism religion or die if they refuse, and make all the women and children their sex slaves? Come on. Some Js today are into that, but not most of them then.

@rileyadamvoth I left out the timing: it was more radical to support Jews then than supporting Muslims is now.

Ha, you know nothing about Muslims or Jews if you think that's more radical than supporting Muslims. Not even mildly comparable, actually. But, yes, they all believed no one should be persecuted for their beliefs in a Christian nation. That's normal Christianity. Only Jefferson, in a letter to a friend, said he thought Jews could be in gov positions one day.

@rileyadamvoth Jefferson and Washington, in particular, were explicit in their expressed desire that Jews would participate fully in civil society and government. That was more radical at that time than supporting Muslims full participation in American society.

Wrong. I am correct and know the truth and, in knowing so, know that it's what is best for everyone, whether they want to pretend otherwise or not. Further, since it's the gov's job to do what is best for their people, I can logically conclude the gov is doing right by acknowledging Jesus Christ is Lord and king over all, whether you like it or not. And you are free to not like it. The proof you think you're using for your point is actually quite silly. You notice that it says "Congress shall make no..."? That's because it was only the fed gov forbidden to do so precisely because the states all had their official Christian churches. Even requirements to be Christian to be in public office. It was a freedom of religion, for Christians, by Christians. Not FROM religion. FOR religion. The "year of our Lord" was because they knew who the Lord was. A.D. refers to Christ as well. He was Lord then, and they knew it, and he's still Lord, and we still know it.

@rileyadamvoth Nope. You are delusional, and feel that because enough other people share your delusion, you have the right to enforce your idiocy on everybody. That is precisely WHY the founding fathers mandated that there can not be a state religion. The very first line of the Bill of
