@rileybeans_ know a founder building a stealth voice interface from exactly this conviction - HCI + neurotech background, thinks voice is a real interface shift not just dictation. want an intro?

@raphaelschaad @eve_bouff In a way, yes. Not for sharing location, but map showing what's going on right now and number of people in close circles you know going, sure.
This also requires a screen, the interface needs a non-screen option somehow.

The quickest way to “get your spark back” is to literally light yourself on fire. You’ve got to burn baby. You’re depressed bc you’re not being insane enough. Double. Down. The world does not reward half ass. All in or out. You’re thinking too small. You’ve accepted your current reality as the only reality. Bullshit. You need to write a list of the most insane asks you could ever dream of. “I am a NYT best selling author. I am the founder of a Fortune 500 company. I paint for a living and I make a damn good living.” Ask and you shall receive. Embody and you become. Flip the fucking script. Your current ceiling is now the floor. Level up.
You need to burn.

@stefdelev Yep, lack of trust and heavy propaganda from all around. They only recently generally discovered Claude, before maybe 6 months ago it was only chatgpt and gemini
English

@rileybeans_ Heh, very interesting. Do they say why? (I'm assuming it's mainly geopolitical)
English

@stefdelev all age groups I talk to in Vietnam do not use Chinese models

@udiWertheimer not to mention their AI is integrated into every single app they use in ways that are meaningfully useful.

the LLM shape-rotators are finally learning what the creatives and wordcels have known for almost a year: the chinese labs cannot be defeated
if all you do all day is obsessing over tweets from anthropic and openai updating their gay CLI tools, then you probably:
1. think you are uniquely smarter than everyone else
2. are completely oblivious to the fact that billions of people use instagram and tiktok (and douyin) every day and they actually have much more visibility than you do into AI progress because they’re consuming AI slop video 8 hours per day
chinese labs like bytelabs and kling have been absolutely DOMINATING video over the past 12 months. american labs are nowhere close. mind you pretty much every human being on the planet is consuming those AI videos all day every day
how many people are consuming content created by american labs? maybe 10% of that if i’m being extremely generous
the shape-rotators on X think the wordcels on ig/tiktok are “stupid” but they already knew for a while that chinese ai is absolutely killing it

Key takeaways from President Xi's speech in his first ever appearance at the World AI Conference in Shanghai:
- Started the speech by referring to his signature maxim, "great changes unseen in a century are unfolding across the world"
- Said that the world has "entered an unprecedented period of active innovation on AI technology", which means "great opportunities as well as challenges for governance”
- reaffirmed commitment to open source to promote AI "openness and win-win"
- warns against "over stretching" the concept of national security as applied to AI where one country's national security is prioritised over others
- China opposes emergence of “new historical injustices” in AI (one of the most strongly worded parts of the speech)
- China in next 5 years will provide 5000 opportunities to developing countries in "AI training and seminar programmes" and "cooperation centres" - names ASEAN, League of Arab States, African Union, CELAC, SCO and BRICS
