Haki is meant to be used with precision, affecting only those you want it to affect. When Shanks uses his Haki in Wano, he knocks out his own people as well. When Joyboy’s Haki is used, it specifically affects only the enemy. We have been told repeatedly by multiple people that being able to discern enemy from ally with your Haki and only affect the specific targets you want is the pinnacle of Haki mastery. Rayleigh, Koushiro, and Hyogoro have all said this exact same thing, and the giants imply it as well. This was NEVER meant to be interpreted as Shanks being equal to Joyboy’s Haki. The giants couldn’t even feel the effect of it, so how would they be able to tell? It was meant to show a level of mastery beyond what Shanks is even capable of.
