@SteveLovesAmmo American here. From what I understand, the lower the bow, the more respectful it is - or in the case of apology how sorry you are. So in this video he shows immense sorrow as you cannot get lower than that. Japanese friends please confirm.

Every American man who grills BBQ has his own way of seasoning the meat. So there are really millions of ways to season. There are also different types of sauces, marinades, and dry rubs to prepare BBQ before and after cooking. The BBQ in Texas, Carolina, Memphis, etc. are wildly different in taste and preparation. So it's not so simple! I hope you enjoy learning about American BBQ!

@tanuzou1027 @Mdmartist When he said SPG he means take the steak out, coat it with SPG (salt, pepper, garlic powder) and let it sit for 30 minutes for the meat to absorb the seasoning. This is all done before the cooking starts.

@IamjustRamsey There was an experiment some time ago where they put regular people in regular cars on an oval track and told them to drive around. It wasn't long before they were all driving bumper to bumper with vast open track in front and behind them.

Your people are polite, respectful, punctual, and clean. Your food is amazing. Your cities are clean and vibrant. Your rural areas are beautiful. Your infusion of technology in day-to-day normal life is inspiring. You have the high-speed rail that actually runs on time. You maintain your infrastructure. In our capital Washington DC, we have hundreds of Sakura cherry blossom trees, gifted by your country that we honor every Spring.

To understand the differences between the words, you'd need to have a late 1800s mindset before the era of national distribution. The maps illustrate the "where" but not the "why". "Coke" is used in the south because Coca-Cola originated in Atlanta, Georgia. "Pop" referred to the sound of carbonated drinks in the Midwest before Coke was introduced. "Soda" referred to sodium bicarbonate drinks popular in the Northeast area, again before Coke was introduced. Then the westward expansion across the country in the 1800s spread these different terms west based off the geography of migrants from the original 13 colonies.

The internet constantly tells women that men are terrible listeners because the second a woman starts venting about her day, the man immediately interrupts to offer a logical solution. We are taught to view this as him being dismissive, emotionally unintelligent, or invalidating our feelings. The strict, unpopular truth is that to a man, fixing the problem is his absolute highest, most desperate form of empathy. Women vent to connect; we want our partner to just sit in the dark with us and validate the emotion. But men are hardwired to view the woman they love being in distress as an active threat. When he immediately offers a spreadsheet, a strategy, or a solution to your problem, he isn't trying to silence you. His brain has recognized that something in the world is hurting his partner, and his immediate, visceral instinct is to assassinate the thing causing you pain. We constantly shame men for "not just listening," completely ignoring the fact that his attempt to fix your life is his most profound declaration of love.
k@alfkkifine

what opinion about men do you have that makes people feel like this???

🚨 PEOPLE ARE JUST NOW FINDING OUT ACE HARDWARE HAS HIDDEN BARS AND FULL LIQUOR AISLES — LADIES NIGHT IS HAPPENING… AND THE INTERNET IS LOSING IT People are walking into Ace Hardware expecting tools… and finding full liquor sections instead. Not a few bottles. Entire aisles: • Vodka • Tequila • Whiskey • Wine and craft beer But that’s just the surface. Some locations are built with full “beer garden” setups inside or tucked behind the store. • Draft beer on tap • Patio seating • Live music and food trucks • Events like trivia nights… and yes, Ladies Night One concept even being used is called “Bolts & Brews” literally built around the idea of grabbing a drink while you shop. So what’s actually happening? Ace Hardware is a co-op, meaning stores are independently owned, so some owners are quietly turning their locations into hybrid spaces: part hardware store, part bar, part social hangout. And most people had no idea it was already happening. You can walk in for a $2 screw… and end up staying for drinks. When did this become a normal sentence? “Let’s grab drinks at Ace Hardware.”

No - even before the Starship coverage end-to-end through @Starlink, @SpaceX utilized ground tracking, telemetry overlays, competent broadcasters whose day jobs are engineering, and RF space-to-ground for onboard cameras. The @NASAArtemis broadcast was a total disappointing failure. Thankfully @Erdayastronaut provided amazing ground tracking in 4K with 700+ fps which is way more than @NASA even does for its flagship launch that we've been waiting on for 53 years.

The difference is SpaceX has some cool tech that allows transmissions under difficult circumstances. I can imagine Space Aliens asking "How are they getting images of the plasma around the craft on reentry?" Also SpaceX have enough craft and launch often enough that they get feedback on their launch video.

NASA’s Artemis II livestream really makes you appreciate @SpaceX’s launch broadcasts. Bad camera tracking, no onboard cameras, countdown timer disappeared, NASA even showed people in the crowd instead of stage separation lol. The screen also blacked out twice during the first 10 seconds of the launch.

@Daniel_Wylde_ @JessePeltan Bob realizes his Model Y is sitting around for 16 hours a day doing nothing. Bob adds it to the Robotaxi fleet. Bob easily makes over $557/mo and has a free car. OR Bob spent an extra $5/mo for gap insurance. Insurance pays off the balance of Bob's loan. Bob buys another Tesla

Still a depreciating asset. Still requires maintenance and upkeep costs. Still on the hook paying if something horrible happens. You're better off buying a cheaper car and putting those "future dollars" into literally any investment. In 6 years you can buy it outright. The issue is $530/month isn't affordable to majority of Americans but they'll still purchase it with 0 safety net in case something wrong occurs. Typical example: Bob buys Model Y at $557/month because Bob lives in a state that snows and needs AWD. Bob can "afford" the payment but it means Bob will have little extra money each paycheck. Bob is required to get full coverage so now Bob has no extra money each month. Bob doesn't care because he's spending future dollars. Bob gets in a accident 3 years into his loan. The Model Y has depreciated significantly since purchasing brand new. The Model Y is now only worth ~50% of what he paid for originally. Bob now has no Model Y. Hardly enough from insurance to pay off his loan and nothing saved up because he thought he was spending future dollars. Bob now needs to buy a new car while simultaneously paying his $557/month for nothing. If Bob gets very lucky on timing then Bob pays off the remainder of his loan and has essentially rented a car at $557/month. Bob should have just invested $557/month for those 3 years.

I feel like @elonmusk @Tesla @robotaxi should have something called "crowd mode" with Bluetooth UWB to make using Robotaxi at an airport or after a concert or large event FAR more efficient. This allows a steady stream of Robotaxis passing through a small loading space, with none of the "find my specific Uber" sprawling chaos of 100s of people playing "Where's Waldo" across an entire parking lot. - Load in your destination to the app - Get in a Robotaxi waiting line - Get in the next available Robotaxi - Bluetooth UWB syncs to the passenger inside and takes off to the destination - If passenger messes up or has no destination, Robotaxi drives off to a holding spot to clear the line while the passenger gets their act together

Taking a Robotaxi straight out of SJC is infinitely nicer than taking an Uber out of the shitshow that is SFO’s rideshare area.

This entire playground at my son’s school was purchased and installed when Elon Musk donated $30,000,000.00 to Brownsville and local schools. Everyday when I come pick up my son from school, I see kids playing on it and I always hope Elon is having a good day wherever he is. Before this, the only option they had for playtime was to run around on the asphalt.

Yes, mashed potatoes are a staple of American cuisine. The best are made from scratch, it takes time but these results are much much better than from a box. I don't know which potato varieties you have access to in Japan, but here is the recipe my family loves: gimmesomeoven.com/best-mashed-po…
