I cried today. I actually love community a little bit too much. I really wish I can help everyone but I don’t even have it all figured out myself.. I had a virtual sit down with my community members today and some of the stories were really touching. People are going through a lot and combining that with learning and trying to build a career is just another struggle😪

I’m excited to share an interactive Power BI dashboard I built to analyze holiday sales performance and customer behavior. Explore the live dashboard here: [shorturl.at/isn0E] What this dashboard covers: Revenue, Orders, Units Sold & AOV (with YoY trends) Sales performance by product and category Customer insights (age groups, return rates, satisfaction) Payment methods and geographic distribution Monthly trends and operational efficiency Key Highlights: Revenue grew by ~19.6% YoY Strong performance in Clothing & Electronics Return rates remain a key area for improvement Online sales increased, showing a shift in customer behavior This dashboard provides a data-driven view of business performance, helping stakeholders identify growth opportunities, reduce inefficiencies, and improve customer experience. I’d really appreciate your feedback. #120DaysOfDataWithTina #DataAnalyticsLockedIn #BuildingInPublic #PowerBI #DataAnalytics

You cannot escape data visualization as a data analyst, literally any Data Analyst job description you come across has a “Creating charts, graphs, and dashboards to present findings to stakeholders.” in it. Data Visualization is also not just throwing a bunch of charts and calling it a dashboard, it is generating insights from your data that would help the business make decisions. If you struggle with data visualization as a data analyst you should definitely read this 👇 The best dashboards have a clear purpose and work for their intended audience. It’s important to know what you are trying to say and who you are saying it to. Here are some visualization rules to help you: 1.Think of your audience first, after every dashboard, ask your self one question, what decision will this help them make. Start with the question, not the chart. Before you open Power BI or any tool, ask yourself: what decision should this dashboard support? Every visual should exist because it answers something specific. 2.Make your layout predictable. People scan dashboard, they don’t study them. If your layout is chaotic or inconsistent, users will get lost quickly. Structure should feel natural, left to right, top to bottom, with a clear flow. Here is where a wireframe can be helpful. 3.Make hierarchy obvious. Not everything on a dashboard should compete for attention. Your most important metric should be the first thing people see. Start with your title, then your KPIs, then trends and lastly details. 4.Tell one story per page. Trying to say everything at once leads to confusion. Each page should answer a single question clearly. If you have multiple questions, create multiple pages. 5.Guide attention intentionally. Not everything should shout. Use size, spacing, and color to show what matters most. Your most important insight should be obvious within seconds. Use color with meaning, not decoration. Color should guide interpretation. Green should mean something. Red should mean something. At most, use 2-3 colors. White background is the safest if you struggle with color and then 2 other colors for contrast. If everything is colorful, then nothing stands out. 6.Remove clutter. Images, grid lines and anything that does not answer a question. If a visual is not helping someone make a decision, it should not be there. Every element on your dashboard should earn its space. This is getting too long so I will create a new post to share the rest. One question to always ask your self after every dashboard: What decision will this help anyone make? That’s the best way to know you have not done rubbish

@msmocrown This is what happens when you come out of a system that believes it’s okay to cheat or game your way through the system. When you go to a working environment, you still want to do the same. 😪

@Rita_tyna @Mbadiwejesse I thought I was the only one who noticed. A lot of the blame should go to the tutors (bootcamps). I’m starting to think they don’t really know their onions. How do you ignore basic consistency rules? You build a dashboard and it ends up looking like a rainbow.

The amount of terrible dashboards I have been seeing on my TL in the past few days …I would assume we have passed this stage…Because even AI will create something better than the rubbish I keep seeing. I get that we are all beginners, but we shouldn’t be making these mistakes in 2026. Why do you have your face in the center of your dashboard, who is teaching you people that rubbish?
