Trump wants to end it now but Iran is in control of that, if Iran keeps Hormuz closed for whatever reason (continues to attack ships etc.) then the U.S. has no choice but to stay in the war. The U.S. is now trapped if Iran so chooses. Israel's actions are a huge factor as well, of course.
