Found a replay. It’s possible he thought he had a better shot of getting the out at second, but I think the gesture towards the stands after means he heard me.

I can’t get a replay anywhere to prove it, but I caused the right and center fielders to both watch a fly ball hit the ground by yelling “I GOT IT” from the flag court in the 7th inning
