Nine EU members (🇪🇪🇱🇹🇱🇻🇸🇪🇫🇮🇩🇰🇳🇱🇵🇱🇷🇴) have proposed to cancel EU funding for the Olympics due to its returning Russia to the Games.
Since money is the only language @iocmedia speaks, this may actually be a good argument, as opposed to alluding to morals or decency.
English

@NOELreports That is probably accurate. You can also proceed to negotiate with Chile, Zambia, and Palau - the one you are fighting a war with is Ukraine.
English

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov claimed Europe and Ukraine buried US-Russia agreements reached in Alaska and tried to sideline Washington. He also labeled Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian vessels in the Sea of Azov “terrorism.” #Russia
English

@MagaGrunt1 Take it then.
It is within reach of artillery, medium drones, and rockets from the mainland and there is nothing the US can do with it.
This would be another move without strategy, in line with previous moves in this war.
English

You are absolutely right that Iran is involved in regional civil wars, don't forget their support for Gaza/Hamas. And feel free to put your energy in on encroaching them... I believe there is little path to success. Just keep the strait open while at it please.
russia is continuously (through vice president, media spokesmen) threatening US and European cities with nuclear strikes, they are waging hybrid wars and spending enormous amounts to influence US and European politics.
Likewise North Korea have nuclear arms, ballistic missiles that can reach the US, and frequently and openly threatens the US through official statements
English

I disagree, but why do you think those countries pose a bigger nuclear threat than Iran? I disagree because by and large, those countries haven't, and cannot threaten the United States. They do not call the United States. The big devil and Israel the little devil, and they are not State sponsors of terrorism the way Iran is. Iran was heavily involved in the Syrian civil war and the yemeni civil war, resulting in the deaths of almost Half a million people that is a far greater threat than any of the other countries you mentioned.
I would agree that North Korea and Pakistan should not have nuclear weapons, same thing with India, that is just a powder keg.
English

@NYGeshikta @IdRatherNot33 @PeteHegseth At the end of the day, Russia, China, North Korea consitute much larger threats to the US than Iran ever would, even with a working ballistic nuclear-carrying missile.
English

Well, I think both Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq taught the lesson that a endless wars in faraway countries are not going to change the scheme of things. Even Trump highlighted that.
It is hard to change a regional hegemony (same with russia and China) but at the end-of-the day, trade and prosperity drives incentives and Iran has many reasons to want to get sanctions relieved. When the JCPOA was in place, it was quite effective to control the nuclear program - could have been improved but better than were we are today. Most enrichement happened after cancellation.
But well, go ahead, better control the nuclear capabilities of North Korea, Pakistan, and India as well?
And, yet again, the ongoing war has changed little or nothing.
English

@Kasparov63 No surprises there. I guess the paychecks must have been cancelled
English

@SpencerGuard Well, it would be great if we could get the JCPOA agreement back in place. It was working and the Strait was open.
English

We can and should finish the job in Iran! Non-nuclear proliferation and freedom of navigation are worth fighting for and are directly tied to U.S. security, prosperity, and interests. IMO.

@NYGeshikta @IdRatherNot33 @PeteHegseth You are right. I refer to my other response to you. No one hates America. Yet, the current war is without a plan or a strategy...

Very true. I have lots of Swedish friends from Iran, my brother is married to an Iranian, and her parents live in Teheran. Many of their relatives were engaged in the uprisings. None of the Iranians I know are friends of the regime. But the US attacks are not helping. It has rather solidified the regime's position and no one will go out to demonstrate while bombs are falling from the sky. I am not in an America-hating bubble, I like America. But I find wars without a plan, too much testosterone, and no strategic outcome quite useless.
English

@rjessing @IdRatherNot33 @PeteHegseth The vast majority of Iranians love the US. The America-hating narrative is created by woke progressives that hate the US, they project their feelings on to Iranians. That's a disservice to the majority of the Iranians that like the US and hate their own brutal government.

The vast majority of Iranians that are murdered are slaughtered by the regime. The morality police beat and murder women that don't wear hijabs.
Only a diseased westerner thinks the US has been worse for the Iranian people than the Iranian government itself. Don't take my word for it, ASK ANY IRANIAN DISSEDENT and/or national that lives in the US. They will tell you the same thing.
Get out of your America-hating bubble, talk to actual Iranians, the story is the opposite of your twisted narrative.
English

@inairam321 @Youwannaknoweh @RealFDNews Haha, wouldn't fear much. The first 18 months of this term and Trump has achieved nothing; tarrifs, ICA deporations, Iran etc. Basically the man talks a lot and backs down.
Some people call it the art of the deal. I call it a loser full of bullshit.
English

🚨 BREAKING: Reports claim the Trump administration is finalizing a proposal to purchase Greenland from Denmark in what would be one of the largest geopolitical deals in modern history.
According to the reports, the offer would include hundreds of billions of dollars, along with direct payments to Greenland’s residents if an agreement were reached.
If true, the proposal would mark an unprecedented move in U.S. foreign policy and reignite global debate over Greenland’s strategic importance.
A story the entire world is watching. 👀🌎

@Snarls299767 @Gaspacs1 @RealFDNews Well, for me it is just a continuation from the JCPOA agreement but with yet another financial incentive. Unrelated to the war and Trump could have reached there without the war. Not about winning/losing.
Iran will benefit hugely from sanctions coming down too.
English

@rjessing @Gaspacs1 @RealFDNews When has the "losing" county received 300 billion from the "winning" nation? Name 1 thing America has "won" from this war? America might have blown a few things up but Iran now dictates oil prices and has a brand new toll on the strait thanks to you guys. Asses getting beat!
English

I do sincerely believe that the Iran has been even more effective than the CIA in causing pain, disruption, and suffering across the region. And yes, it is true terrorism at times.
Doesn't mean that they have no incentives to see the light. The JCPOA agreement was a step in the right direction.
English

@NYGeshikta @rjessing @PeteHegseth @grok Ok, so you are saying that groups that Iran supported, Lebanese fighting in lebanon, and iraqis fighting in iraq, staged attacks witch killed people. Are we not going to talk about U.S. proxies that kill civilians? The Contras, the Syrian rebels? We support all Julani, no? Lol
English

@IdRatherNot33 @NYGeshikta @PeteHegseth To a large extent it is. But it will take decades to change the narrative on both sides. Probably helps to start with trade rather than bombs though...
English

@rjessing @NYGeshikta @PeteHegseth Who cares about stupid slogans. We have politicians singing "bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran" to the tune of Barbara Ann for 40 years. We have been interfering in their affairs since Operatio Ajax in '53. I think their frustration and hostility is fully justified.
English

@NYGeshikta @IdRatherNot33 @PeteHegseth @grok You're making a good poilt here. Turkey made the call on what happens to Syria. Which makes sense, they're neighbours. Turkey is a very strong regional power.
However, why the US would need to interfere with a regional power in a war without a strategy makes no sense.
English

@IdRatherNot33 @rjessing @PeteHegseth @grok We didn't support Jolani initially, there was a $10 million bounty on his head.
Turkey supported him in his takeover of Damascus.
The contras? If your second best example is something from the '80s, that's not a good example.
English

Well, first, mind your language. We should be polite.
Second, you're partially right. Iran is sponsoring proxy wars and terrorism and have a revolutionary heritage (and slogans) of death to America. At the same time, they're a small dog with a big dogs bark and not really a threat to anyone but Israel.
Americans should worry more about China, North Korea, and particularly russia, where the latter seems to be Trump's best buddy.
If I were American...
English

@NYGeshikta @rjessing @PeteHegseth Why the fuck do you want to tell Iran what to believe and think? Why do you think that's your right? Iran hasnt attacked another country in centuries, you dumbfuck
English

I believe that Israel are perfectly capable of defending themselves against a country 1,600 km away. Netanyahu has, like a broken record, been repeating the nuclear threat of Iran for almost 30 years.
And, there was an agreement with strict control measures over their nuclear material. Now, there is nothing and the Strait of Hormuz is closed.
What's the plan?
English

If they don't pose a threat, then you should travel to Iran, tell them you're Jewish and tell them that Israel deserves the right to exist, oh, and that they should have a pride parade with a bunch of trans people walking down the streets of Tehran.
Let me know how that goes, otherwise, enjoy living in Singapore, you spineless retard.
English

Money for babies, removed abortion rights and birth pill bans... Russia is desperately pushing along. It might take a while to supply these new soldiers to the Donbass though...
