A worker in Ontario, California sets his company’s warehouse on fire and has a message for the CEO: “There goes your inventory. All you had to do was pay us enough to fucking live.” Expect to see more of this as people struggle to survive under our decaying capitalist system.

For a decade and a half it's been impossible to celebrate the demise of a shit PM because what's coming after is worse. And so it will continue.

"We’re in a prolonged cost of living crisis, geopolitical uncertainty is now the mainstay of everyday life..." ...and you were elected to help fix that not to farm social media likes. You've answered your own question. Zero self awareness. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

@SimonMagus Does society need to collapse for there to be civil war? Society can nominally hold together whilst around it civil war (by some definition) persists. To adapt your example, young folk still helped older folk in 70s Belfast.

@rjpeaky That feels quite a lot like recent definitions of genocide where the meaning gets stretched essentially to meet a political position rather than in the search for objectivity. My contention is that Britain is very badly governed not that society is collapsing.

@WestTip1986 Always has a special place in my heart too. The first National winner I picked myself!

But at the height of his powers there was no finer steeplechaser around the Grand National course than West Tip – a brave, consistent and gentle racehorse who became a lion in the spring and will forever mean a great deal to his many fans.

Forty years ago today West Tip won the Grand National. A magnificent horse who played a big role in my life – this is something of a personal thread but I couldn’t let the anniversary slip by without paying a small tribute to him. 🧵

@_HelenDale No, there's nothing left of the house except the garden I believe. Which is lovely but in need of a tidy when we were shown it. Blue plaque is attached to the flats which I guess are late Victorian.

@rjpeaky Ah, bugger. Shame. I was told by the staff at Panmure House in Edinburgh (his official museum & where he lived for the last 10 years of his life) that there was nothing left of his house in Kirkcaldy. I wasn’t aware of the walled garden there, tho.
