@rchase Dell also has 34" and 38" curved monitors with USB/Thunderbolt hubs. My dual 27" setup was too small. My dual 32" setup was too big. This is how I ended up in the 38" --> 40" --> 52" progression.

@rchase My 52" monitor is 22" from the front edge of my desk (measured from the center of the screen's curve). 20" is probably too close for 52" monitor, but may be OK for the 40".

AI makes silent, unilateral decisions about what's essential vs optional without consulting you. Kim and Yegge say to verify every component was delivered to specification. Count your babies systematically. Don't trust AI to maintain professional standards on its own. itrev.io/3VOG5GH

@mkennedy I started reading this Friday and already have a list of changes I want to make to the way I host some sites. Thank you for writing and publishing this book.

@__mharrison__ Don’t close them unless absolutely necessary (for performance). If necessary, bookmark all open tabs before closing. Never look at the bookmarks again.

@kennethreitz42 I see your point about systemic exclusion and stigma around mental health. My intent wasn’t to dismiss that — only to note that, from the outside, the Requests 3 situation also shaped perceptions.

@rjschave The article is about patterns of systemic exclusion that persist even when conduct is professional and contributions are strong. Reducing it to “personal conduct” is exactly the kind of dismissal that makes genuine inclusion impossible.

Interesting to watching bidding effects in action on Amazon. This Bernstein book was $30 when I bought it a week ago and was still $30 before announcing the book club. Then earlier today (after announcing) it was $40. Now it's $56. Addison-Wesley, if you're listening.

Interesting: Meta created React Native. It’s used (with components at least) in their flagship apps: Facebook (iOS, Android), Instagram (Meta Quest), Messenger (desktop). Google created Flutter. And yet none of their flagship apps use it (Gmail, YouTube, Maps, Calendar).

@tamarawinter I’m well beyond my 20s and I can afford the book. Do you know when it might be in print again? Thank you.
