Our province is a national leader in renewable energy development, and pausing new approvals ensures we continue to balance growth with responsible land use practices and keeping electricity affordable for Albertans.

@MelissaMbarki Why don't you admit your using it as a political ploy to get the Fed to support O&G projects. I guess that would mean admitting you are willing to hurt the majority of ABs and put needed power generation at risk... unless it's a coal plant.

@MelissaMbarki I think your jumping to conclusions...I don't recall anyone, other than you, saying they want to do it without consultation. Very interesting that the 'Red Tape Reduction' Party is so interested in adding Red Tape that drives investment away (PS that was the UCP sales pitch)

@gilmcgowan @ABFedLabour I believe this was the UCP playing politics with Ottawa. The Message they are sending is: if you want sipport for renewables we want O&G. The Losers, as @EmmaLGraney points out, is Alberta. Loss of investment, Loss of jobs, loss of Energy Production, Loss of technology...

The so-called “business-friendly” UCP screwed the fastest growing industry in our province. This was what we at the @ABFedLabour have warned: despite commonly-held beliefs, the UCP is NOT “better at the economy.” In fact, they’re exactly the opposite of what we need, right now.
Emma Graney 🇦🇺🤷🏻‍♀️🇨🇦@EmmaLGraney

I spoke with companies affected by Alberta’s pause on wind & solar projects. None were consulted, nor was the major industry group. Texas-based Proteus says this will chill investment in Alberta & Canada. “We got screwed” the CEO told me #ableg #cdnecon theglobeandmail.com/business/indus…

@DevinDVote This is just a political ploy to send a msg to the feds that you want them to approved O&G project to play ball on other initiative... meanwhile Albertans come out the loser because investment is driven away and there is continued power needs not being met... well done UCP

@MelissaMbarki Coal mines went through dispite all of the concerns and objections. And the footprint for cleanup of wind is smaller... or should we talk about the wellheads the got approval and we are paying to cleanup or oil spills or...

An operator cannot move forward with a project without an environmental impact assessment. This includes lengthy consultation. Why would wind and solar be exempt from this process? Ensuring rural concerns are addressed is a step in the right direction. globalnews.ca/news/9875106/a…

@ABDanielleSmith You don't see a problem when you, DS, blame & change the entire AHS senior management then have to get personnally involved? You made a problem a nightmare... that apparently only you can solve... how about a sports stadium.

It’s unacceptable that Albertans are facing constant delays to get a simple test or blood work done. As of right now, we’ve directed Alberta Health Services to make thousands of new community lab appointments available in Calgary to reduce wait times for patients. @peteremcc I guess someone lied to me. I was told that cost was to be covered up front by the O&G industry... not on the backs of taxpayers... I guess it's only worth complaining about Carbon Tax and not Clean-up Tax. Q-when do I get paid for putting up with this shit

No, the UCP is proposing to pay currently existing energy companies to clean up orphan wells of companies that no longer exist. IE: Fixing mistakes of previous govts. The plan is not perfect, but lying about what the plan is for political purposes isn't helpful. #ableg #abpoli

Alberta should have rules that ensure landowners and taxpayers are not burdened with the significant environmental cleanup of renewable energy projects. This is the right move to create a better set of rules to protect Albertans. #ableg

Alberta is pausing all approvals for new wind and solar projects for six months to review where they can be built, how renewables affect the power grid, and rules about what happens to installations when they reach the end of their life theglobeandmail.com/business/indus… #ableg #cdnpoli

As a member of the Sponsor Board of Alberta’s largest pension plan (the Local Authorities Pension Plan or LAPP) I commit to sharing this report with other board members and plan administrators. For the sake of Albertans who rely on our pension plans, we cannot look away. #abpoli

@steve_macdonald @Canuck_Tweets @CTVNews Not true... as reported Meta & the Australian government negogiated a deal. Either way my support is for Canadians being paid for there work and I'm disapointed by those supporting US companies taking Canadians work for free.
