Devastated to hear that The Electric is closing its doors for the foreseeable future, and potentially for good. After the budget cut announcement for our city's arts and culture venues, this comes as a further blow for Brum and our city's indie scene 💔

A Met police officer has been convicted of multiple counts of rape. When he was hired — which was AFTER a serving police officer raped and killed Sarah Everard — he had already faced charges of raping a child. Absolutely fuck this.

@rktook The one I had the most fun reading was The Rachel Incident by Caroline O’Donaghue - pure joy. Some others I’ve adored (all very different) are This Ragged Grace by Octavia Bright, The Bee Sting by Paul Murray, Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano and Stoner by John Williams

Do you have lived experience of an eating disorder and are interested in being paid to help shape ED research? @ScottColePsych and I have funding for a steering group for a project around future thinking + disordered eating. Let us know if you're interested in being part of it!

My absolute favourite part of the new Network North document - which is almost insulting in the way it tries to convince northerners they haven’t been shafted by HS2 cancellation - is the part where they promise… To fix potholes in the South of England.

Sexual assault facts: Most victims don’t report. Most delay disclosing or reporting, or never report. 83% of Australian women assaulted didn’t report their most recent incident of SA to police. 4 in 10 didn’t seek advice or help from others. aic.gov.au/publications/t… @AICriminology

F* it all the people who are asking why women didn’t come forward sooner. Because girls and women are not believed, called hysterical and because there is so much inherent bias in the way the society ‘judges’ womens’s testimonies about their own bodies.
