Huge reforms needed for Eurovision 2027.

The Eurovision Song Contest results sent a resounding message: the public rejects the cultural boycott of Israel. Despite months of coordinated pressure, intimidation campaigns, and calls to exclude Israel from the competition, audiences across Europe and around the world delivered one of the strongest public vote totals of the night in support of Israel’s entry and contestant, Noam Bettan. Once again, the activists and loudest voices on social media failed to reflect the views of the overwhelming majority of the tens of millions of fans who watched the show.  Ahead of Eurovision, more than 1,000 entertainment industry leaders  — including Helen Mirren, Liev Schreiber, and Mila Kunis — signed our open letter and publicly stood against efforts to boycott Israel and in defense of artistic freedom, cultural exchange, and the unifying power of music. Millions more stood with them on Saturday night. The stark contrast between the public vote and segments of the jury vote also underscored a troubling reality: too many within the cultural and entertainment world remain fearful of the harassment, professional backlash, and intimidation that often accompany any public expression of support for Israel. But Eurovision’s audience made its voice unmistakably clear. These results reaffirm what the boycott movement refuses to acknowledge: when ordinary people are given the choice, they overwhelmingly reject cultural blacklists, coercion, intimidation, and division.
