happy 3rd anniversary to the most incredible blockchain in the world @suinetwork. its almost impossible to believe that its been two years here. i remember early 2024 when i joined as a total newbie. i knew nothing about web3 and the amazing technology that sui offered. thankfully, my brother @thompsonogoyi gave me an opportunity to join the most wonderful community in all of web3 @suioncampus. this was the springboard for all i achieved here. through my role as pm, we achieved something nobody ever believed we would and created memories i will cherish forever. - we held the first sui event in africa at @socscunijos that set the stage for building a solid community and became a catalyst for expansion into ghana, kenya, and others. - our activations successfully built an extensive network of move engineers for sui. we had success stories like @iv_dev3, @minting_ruru, @cyberx___, @web3bard101 and so many others. - we hosted bounties, hackfests, workshops, and supported projects with thousands of dollars to keep building. - we established the @suioncampus student club in over eight universities to give builders access to a structure for growth. - our product @SUIMAIL_ coming third in sui overflow ‘25 competing with hundreds of global project - @uselinq reached mainnet, secured a grant from @SuiFoundation and became the first and only african product on sui to achieve such feat. - last year, two builders from our community attended the sui basecamp dubai with all expenses paid. - my most noteworthy contribution however was the human capital development along the way. on a personal note, it has not been all highs. i remember feeling frustrated about missing the $wal airdrop, but sui gave me so many other opportunities instead. - i got to work with incredible teams here like @cetusprotocol, @pawtatofinance, @fullsailfi, @flowx_finance and others. i want to sincerely thank my colleagues @lois_choji, @iam_ngbede, @breakforth1998, bawo for every support. also to the individuals who have given me opportunities to work in different capacities @wriches @amywph, @lilyisnily, @blockjayn, @neppahtitel, @therealglupta, i say thank you. credits to my bosses, @thompsonogoyi, @joshuaorhue_, and @nefarii. without you all, the nigerian community would never have been possible. to the founders of sui @emanabio, @kostascrypto, @evanweb3, @gdanezis, and @b1ackd0g, i am a true believer that the technology you created will transform the world. now let’s keep going together.

JUST SAY CONGRATS!!! You see, I have been so busy with building myself that I forget how far I have come in this journey. 8 years ago, I had a dream, “To become a successful tech founder” at that time I just wanted to own a website, I was obsessed. But I had zero personal access to the internet cuz my parents couldn’t afford to get me a phone, but I was somehow aware of what is happening on the internet. That same passion has been my drive till date. When I finally got a phone, I thought I landed but It was just the beginning. -No mentorship -No guide -No direction Just a young curious Desmond with a specific destination own a website, code it and be successful, that was what I knew. In the process of all this I had a lot of experience trying to make a significant progress. I couldn’t due to lack of good gadgets, my parents didn’t have the money to even further my education talk more of gadgets. But I didn’t stop, somehow fate took me SKILD Africa where I got some proper skills for free. Started exploring learning branding all just to find a way to at least raise money to get a laptop. I just wanted to build. Not happened, but something was happening to my mind. Same passion, same zeal and same goal multiple routes I found myself at @alx_africa first co-hort. This program was what really changed my perspective towards tackling problems. The onboarding section gave me the foundation that built me to this stage GRIT was our mantra. At that point my goal was no to get a laptop, but to have results, I started using my phone to practice basic C++ programming and when it was time for advanced programming I tried using my 2gig ram android to run an Ubuntu sandbox to create a game. Till date I lost that phone cuz it crashed😓. The phone crashed but my mind has been shaped, I left the program, changed my direction. And that was how my I found myself into web3! Goal was still the same, own a solution. 7months in, consistent learning, applied grit to everything landed my first job as a community builder and 3yrs later I am onboarding people into web3(over 1000 direct and indirect) using: -Simplified content writing -Comprehensive guides -Infrastructural explanation -Practical DeFi strategies -New and updates -IRL events across Nigeria teaching DeFi no longer a as confused Desmond but as a DeFi expert. From a curious young lad to an expert. For a lot of persons this is success, but for an ex-ALX stundent this a start. Hence the need to build a product, this time not just a website. A solution that is solving financial problem at scale. 3yrs+ studying and practicing DeFi, one has be clear; The next era of finance is here and it’s powered by the blockchain. Institutions are already taking position Individuals at other developed continents are taking position. Africa shouldn’t be left out, infact the next generation should be catching up, the should part of it! And that’s why we built Sentra. Our goal is Simple: To rebuild retail finance with a comprehensive vault infrastructure on Sui. From multi-asset token locking to smart vesting schedules, we’ve built the hub for secure, automated yield generation.
