@peterdaou I live in Trump country. I work with Trump voters. They are not bad people. Just as fed up with the system as we are. Btw, many of them said they liked Bernie in 2016!

I've spent the past few months in Trump country. I vehemently disagree with his supporters on several key issues (immigration, reproductive rights, Mideast policy, etc.) but lately I'm finding them to be more open to honest, principled debate than most liberals.

@peterdaou Just what I was thinking. I told many people to look at what the green party stands for and although they liked what they saw they voted dem anyway. They're just not taken seriously. It's just not gonna happen anytime soon.

DIFFICULT CONVERSATION Just the way we demand Dems take accountability, does it alarm you that third parties and indies COMBINED could barely crack 1%, even in a year primed for an outside challenge? Has the establishment's relentless propaganda, lawfare, and anti-constitutional ballot access rules successfully demolished any path for third parties to attain the key 5% threshold? I can understand why people would conclude that direct action is the only path to real positive change.

I just need to figure out how to fit my mate’s indomitable, unconquerable soul into the cold, barren ground. Fuck. Sorry, I’m tequila drunk, maybe I shouldn’t post this? Maybe it’s too self-indulgent, too saccharine, too personal even. But then, what are we even trying to achieve here if I can’t just break the wall and be a human and say I’m fucking bleeding here over the loss of my friend and I don’t know how to grapple with this fucking grief, man. I’m drowning and I don’t know where to put it all. And that’s one guy, one person, one soul lost far too soon. What the fuck are we doing as a species to force *anyone* to experience this at the kind of scale Palestinians and Lebanese are right now? No man is an island — the grief of loss should lessen us all. The bell always tolls for us all. And if we build a society that trivialises death, then nothing is sacred and nothing good can ever come of it. Ever. Never miss an opportunity to tell the people around you that you love them. You really don’t know — and I mean this, you really don’t fucking know — when the last time you see them will be. 💔✌️
