Stigma isn't simple math: For justice-involved adults with OUD & mental illness, overlapping identities (race, addiction, criminal record) collide—not add up. 96% faced major discrimination; day-to-day slights erode mental health faster than big events. Good morning and Happy Monday to everyone who agrees that the news cycle should NOT move on from trump casually playing golf after launching a war, with our service members dying and gas prices soaring. If this were Biden, Fox would've lost their minds.

@looneyfox_1 Pill-shaming is ableism. It derives from poor science literacy and pseudoscientific health ideology in the anti-psychiatry movement and alternative medicine industry. There's no shame in accepting medication. No one deserves to experience stigma.

ALERT: The Massachusetts Group Insurance Commission has voted to eliminate coverage for GLP-1 drugs prescribed for weight loss. GLP-1s will still be covered for conditions like diabetes, but not obesity alone. About 22,000 members currently use them for weight loss.

In 2019, the State of New Mexico launched an investigation of Jeffrey Epstein’s Zorro Ranch, then the Trump 1 Justice Department demanded the state stop and turn it over to the feds. The probe then fizzled. Awesome reporting from @ReisThebault nytimes.com/2026/03/01/us/… via @NYTimes

When someone says, “Why not use a saline placebo?” the answer is simple: Because once you have an effective treatment, withholding it becomes unethical. This isn’t opinion. It’s foundational research ethics. The governing principle comes from the Declaration of Helsinki (World Medical Association): A placebo may only be used when no proven effective intervention exists, or when withholding treatment poses no risk of serious harm. Once efficacy is established, the ethical comparison is: New treatment vs. standard of care —not— New treatment vs. nothing Why? Because clinical trials are not abstract thought experiments. They involve real people. If we already know an intervention prevents hospitalization, disability, or death, randomizing someone to “no treatment” exposes them to avoidable harm. That violates: Beneficence – maximize benefit Nonmaleficence – do no harm Clinical equipoise – genuine uncertainty must exist If equipoise is gone, placebo is gone. This is why: New antibiotics aren’t tested against sugar pills when penicillin works. New cancer drugs aren’t tested against saline when chemotherapy improves survival. Updated flu vaccines aren’t tested against “nothing” when prior versions reduce severe disease. A physician arguing that we should knowingly withhold a proven effective intervention to “prove it again” is arguing against the very ethical framework that protects patients in trials. If you want a placebo-controlled trial after efficacy is known, you must argue that: The existing treatment does not work. Or that withholding it causes no meaningful harm. If neither is true, placebo becomes exploitation. That isn’t suppression of science. It’s protection of human subjects. Ethics is not an obstacle to science. It’s what keeps science from becoming abuse.

@drterrysimpson @PunkyCovfefe @HammersBagga There are the inverted ethics written in code. Thats insane.

As a Catholic, it's hard for me to grasp how any Christian could consciously, morally, and spiritually support Donald Trump without feeling a sense of shame or guilt. No true Christian could back a man who has harmed children, degraded women, and torn down the very people we're called to love and uplift. He isn't a Christian himself—he's even admitted he doesn't think he'll get into heaven. Yet so many Christians cling to him like he's the second coming. It's disgusting and disgraceful. I pray they'll see the light: that Donald is a dark and evil force who seeks to bring down humanity. We must stand together with our brothers and sisters of all faiths and demand better. #DumpTrump #DemsUnited #FakeChristians

Until the 1970's, the left is what air over L.A. looked like. Johnny Carson used to make jokes about it. Since then, the Clean Air Act led to cleaner & healthier air. Now Trump yearns for the good old days when people died or developed asthma. Who the hell wants more coal use?

Remember when it was 2024 and everyone said the SAVE act had “no path forward” and didn’t care because Biden was in office? Now it’s 2026 and it just passed the house. It’s giving “Roe v Wade will never be overturned.” Call your Senators. (202) 224-3121

It is totally inappropriate and against the separations of powers for the DOJ to surveil us as we search the Epstein files. Bondi showed up today with a burn book that held a printed search history of exactly what emails I searched. That is outrageous and I intend to pursue this and stop this spying on members.
Kent Nishimura@kentnish

@Reuters The use of these materials—described by some critics as a "burn book" — came into focus as Rep. Jayapal pressed for technical answers on redaction failures, notes were passed forward to Bondi, who referenced them before responding. Pictured below are some notes related to Jayapal

They asked Bad Bunny to come to their wedding and he declined, only to invite them to get married diring his Super Bowl halftime performance. THE ONLY THING MORE POWERFUL THAN HATE IS LOVE. unpopular opinion: a lot of “mental health issues” disappear when bills are paid, rent is secure, and the fridge is full. peace is expensive. and pretending money doesn’t affect mental health is privilege.
