🆘🆘 LEO (ID 245409), 4 YO, MALE – IN QUEENS ACC - came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 1/27/2026, with the surrender reason stated as animal circumstance - not spayed/neutered. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 🆘🆘 LEO WAS “RESCUED” ON 2/19 BUT APPARRENTLY THAT RESCUE DID NOT MATERIALIZE – SO HE IS NOW BACK ON THE EPL – BEYOND URGENT -ALL PRIOR PLEDGES REMAIN IN FORCE – PLEASE HELP LEO, IF YOU CAN 🆘🆘 ➡️TBD 3/12/26 ➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST ➡️ 🆘🆘 3RD Chance on Emergency Placement List – NO ROOM IN SHELTER – WILL NOT BE GIVEN MUCH MORE TIME – VERY HIGH EU/SILENT KILL RISK– 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 45 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ LEO IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL AND MEDICAL REASONS - He is not thriving in the care center and is deteriorating in the Adoptions room. Although hissing and tolerant initially, Leo no longer allows petting or handling. Medically, Leo has chronic skin issues that will require management. In kennel he is very stressed and does not allow much treatment, however on intake he was social, soliciting attention and allowing medical handling. It is possible that he will allow medical management in a different low-stress environment. “Deteriorating in the Adoptions room” coupled with this medical condition and the fact that he has been returned to adoptions list means that LEO will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 What my friends at ACC say about me: Leo is not open to interaction at this time and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. Because his previous owner reports he is eventually friendly, affectionate, and allows handling (pick up and being held), as well as being brushed in a home environment, we believe the behavior seen in the care center is shelter-specific and this cat would make a great pet, but is really struggling in the shelter environment. This cat is suitable for adopters with previous cat experience who are willing to work with a cat who needs time and patience to help him/her adjust to their new home. Leo is a heartbreakingly handsome tabby boy with warm amber eyes and the most charming feature - one perfectly crinkled ear that gives him an irresistibly unique look. He arrived at the shelter eager for affection, greeting everyone with gentle head‑butts and sweet curiosity. Now, Leo is finding the shelter environment too stressful at this point in time and prefers to hide in his cubby. He is the kind of cat who needs time, patience and a peaceful home to feel safe again. With space to decompress, his true nature can shine the way it did on day one. Whoever gives this handsome, crinkle‑eared cutie a chance will be rewarded with a very special and uniquely-eared companion.❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke 💔😿🙏Thank you

🆘🆘 SIMBA (ID 249399), 7 YO, MALE – IN MANHATTAN ACC - came into the shelter as an aco - owner surrender on 3/11/2026, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- cannot afford to care for. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 3/21/26 ➡️ SENIOR ALERT ➡️ MEDICAL PRIORITY – NEEDS MORE CARE AND ATTENTION THAN THE SHELTER CAN PROVIDE ➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST ➡️ 🆘🆘 3RD Chance on Emergency Placement List – NO ROOM IN SHELTER – WILL NOT BE GIVEN MUCH MORE TIME – VERY HIGH EU/SILENT KILL RISK– 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 9 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ SIMBA IS ON THE EPL FOR MEDICAL REASONS - She has diabetes and is not eating well in the shelter. She is losing weight and becoming more fragile. She needs care and attention that we cannot provide. NOT EATING/APPETITE ISSUES ARE A DEATH SENTENCE ON SHELTER - This evaluation/diagnosis means that SIMBA will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 What my friends at ACC say about me: I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me. The staff think I would do best in a home where there are no other cats. Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy! Simba interacts with the observer, solicits & appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for cat parents with either an average amount of cat experience or demonstrate a basic understanding of typical cat behavior. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke 💔😿🙏Thank you
