This is the IMAX console we have here. Very old, but very reliable. You can see Odyssey is over 250k frames which includes the Dune 3 prologue. This works out to over 11 miles of film at around 630lbs.

One of my favourite choices in Nolan's The Odyssey 2026 is how the gods never appear in their true divine forms. Their presence is felt, not seen. Zeus speaks through thunder, Poseidon through relentles waves and unforgiving storms, the divine is always there just beyond human understanding Athena was the goddess, the priestess and odysseus guilt all at once

Those are the Laestrygonians, cannibal giants from Greek myth, related to the Cyclops through Poseidon. Nolan just swapped their classic monstrous look for armored super soldiers instead. Movie never explains the lore, but the poem does, they’re an entire society ruled by a king, not just random giants in the mist.
Nolan reimagined them as armored soldiers instead of monsters, but the poem gives them a whole city and king the film skips entirely.

I believe it is explained that Odysseus althought respectful, is rather wary of the tyrannical nature of Auramemnon. Following his own path granted a sense of independence from The Ruler.
The trails faced shapes Odysseus from warrior to a wise resilient King. Which grants him to ability to reunite with Penelope and confront the suitors.
