Because allowing mass immigration is the worst idea any country can make. Importing immigrants and illegals from third world nations does not work. They do not integrate into the western culture. They bring their third world culture and want the host nations to integrate with them. They want special privileges and to allow them to continue with their culture even if it goes against the moral values of western civilization. Like child brides. Sharia law. They want to have their own laws and culture apart from the rest of society. Why wouldn’t they just stay in their own country? Because these leftist politicians promises them free stuff on taxpayers dollars. In the US same thing. South American and Central American countries are sending their criminals. Gangs are a way of life. So we allow criminals who rape, rob, import drugs, sex trafficking women and children. That’s the who’s coming into the US.
