In some instances for PAEs, an artery may seem like an option, but isn’t feasible. For Dr. Rajasekhara Ayyagari, this became the case. In this clip, Dr. Ayyagari reviews a previous case in which he needed to become adaptable and troubleshoot to use a different artery pathway. With provided imaging, he demonstrated how he utilized balloon microcatheters for embolization. Last week, our University of Utah team—in collaboration with the Tanzania Stroke Project, @Road2IR, and the Muhimbili Orthopaedic Institute—travelled to Tanzania to work with and begin training the inaugural Endovascular Training Program fellows in Dar es Salaam.

🚐🌍 Part 3: Luanda 🇦🇴 → DRC 🇨🇩(Matadi, Muanda) → Cabinda 🇦🇴 → Brazzaville 🇨🇬 with Congo River views → north through Congo with nice gorilla 🦍 stop! → Yaoundé 🇨🇲. Met Drs. Aurélie & Eric, 2 of Cameroon’s 4 IRs, back from France & ready to grow IR services. #DarToYaounde ✅

🚐🌍 Part 2 of the Road2IR trip: Livingstone 🇿🇲 → Botswana 🇧🇼 → stunning N. Namibia 🇳🇦 → Angola 🇦🇴. In Luanda, Dr. Fernando toured us through five new public hospitals & we met the Health Ministry to discuss launching IR training. Huge potential here—can’t wait to be back!
