Moroccan Migrant Spared Jail After Claiming Ignorance of UK Upskirting Laws A 21-year-old Moroccan migrant has avoided immediate imprisonment after committing four upskirting offences on the London Underground and in a supermarket, claiming he was unaware the acts were illegal in the UK. Ayman Yanoussi, of St Johns Road, East Ham, carried out three offences at Bank Station over a 16-month period and a fourth at a Sainsbury’s store. At Inner London Crown Court, prosecutor Jackalyn Chan described how Yanoussi first targeted a woman on 15-04-24 at the station, where a member of the public confronted him. The following day, he filmed another woman on an escalator. The victim felt brushing against her leg, turned to see Yanoussi’s phone flashing as he recorded under her skirt, and challenged him directly. On 28-04-24, he attempted to film a third woman on an escalator at the same station. She felt contact at her skirt, turned, and saw him leaning behind her recording. One victim told the court she felt “disgusted and humiliated”, now avoids escalators, suffers severe anxiety, and is no longer carefree. Yanoussi was later caught on CCTV upskirting a woman at Sainsbury’s on 19-08-25 by leaning under her dress to photograph beneath her skirt. Defence counsel Nina Reinach attributed his behaviour to cannabis misuse, though Judge Rosina Cottage dismissed this as “irrelevant” and an “excuse”. The judge described Yanoussi as a “pest” whose actions crossed the custody threshold, criticising him for lying, cheating, pretending, and failing to accept responsibility. However, considering his age (19 at the time of the earliest offences, now 21) and guilty pleas, she imposed a nine-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months. Yanoussi must complete 120 hours of unpaid work within 12 months, 30 days of rehabilitation activities, and wear an electronic tag for six months. He is subject to sex offender notification requirements for 10 years and a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order restricting public transport use to named journeys (requiring registered bank or Oyster card), banning communication with unfamiliar women without disclosure of convictions, prohibiting public photography, and limiting ownership of image-storing devices unless police-inspectable. Yanoussi admitted four counts of operating equipment beneath clothing without consent and three breaches of notification requirements. The rise in the threat level to the UK to severe shows the increased risk and threats to our country from terrorist activities. The increasing number of antisemitic attacks taking place shows how determined people are to do harm to our country and our values. State actors, including those working on behalf of Iran, Russia and China, and non-state actors want to do us harm and are plotting against us every day. I love the U.K., a man can run around the streets stabbing people for being Jewish, and the issue people debate is whether the police officers trying to remove the knife from him used excessive force. Proof that we will do absolutely anything to avoid addressing antisemitism.

If you're shocked by today's stabbing terror attack on British Jews, you must have been living under a rock for the past few years. Not a single one of the men who drove through North London in 2021 shouting “F*** the Jews, f*** their daughters, f*** their mothers, rape their daughters and free Palestine" were prosecuted.
