While at the Capitol—somewhere on an elevator between meetings, I got the news that I've been granted tenure at @TexasTech. Grateful for my @TTUEducation colleagues & the opportunity to serve this university, my hometown, and the West Texas community. #WreckEm

Thrilled to have been awarded an inaugural SUMI grant from the Urban Institute for a project with Huriya Jabbar! We're comparing gold-standard social network data to admin data on enrollments, course-taking, residential location, etc. to see if we can predict youth social ties.

We find that higher initial levels of collaboration with a school, and relative changes in collaboration within individual teachers, are associated with higher levels of social trust, focus on student learning, and instructional practices differentiated to student needs (4/4)

How does teacher collaboration with colleagues serve as a form of professional development? Excited to share a new paper with @GoddardRoger @OSUehe. Perhaps most exciting of all, this work has fostered ongoing collaboration with @JCPSKY, including recent experimental and cost-effectiveness work on school nursing communities of practice. Looking forward to many future collaborations!

Instead, the close collaboration between researchers, program leads, and decision-makers led to improvements in program implementation, changes in data collection processes, and deeper conversations and collaborations between research and evaluation, program, and finance teams.

Excited to share a new (open access!) paper in @VandyPJE on how research practice partnerships (RPPs) can support evidence-based decision-making, in this case about school budgets, in unexpected ways. tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…
