New research from Brookings shows a perception gap: While most U.S. high school students view their schools as politically balanced, many adults—especially Republicans—see a liberal bias. That disconnect may be driving education policy more than reality. brookings.edu/articles/perce…

NEW from me today (link below): A new study form Missouri shows that (a) superintendents like the 4-day school week because they believe it helps retain/recruit teachers; and (b) the four-day week does not, in fact, do that

The new poll on political/cultural teaching in schools will generate attention. I appreciate a point made by @KevinMahnken’s coverage that I haven’t seen in social media reactions: the political slant isn’t always leftist. For example: “While 18% said their teachers had spoken negatively about Republicans, slightly more said that they’d heard Democrats disparaged.”

What would City of Yes look like in Philly? Expanding TOD overlay to more BSL and RR stations, and increasing footprint from 500 sqft radius; upzoning, and reversing downzonings of major corridors; removal of ADU bans from district overlays; redevelopment/densification of aging
Open New York@OpenNYForAll

The Council majority and City Hall have reached a SWEEPING agreement integrating the original City of Yes proposal with City for All, spearheaded by the Speaker. This historic zoning reform is a major step toward addressing NYC’s housing shortage. 🧵
