When Rahul Gandhi ji raised the issue of vote theft in Haryana, Maharashtra, and Karnataka, none of the parties in the INDIA alliance came out openly in support. When a yatra was taken out against SIR in Bihar, even then everyone just watched from a distance, and some offered half-hearted support. They kept thinking that this would benefit the Congress. In the last 12 years, all the major problems that Rahul Gandhi ji had warned the country about in advance have proven to be true. Regional parties too will have to bring about change within themselves. They should speak out on issues like privatization, protecting the Constitution, foreign policy, education, and health, rather than remaining limited to just caste, family, and some regional problems. If this doesn't happen, it should be understood that the murder of democracy is certain.

I congratulate all our party workers for their tireless and dedicated efforts during these elections. The results have been a mixed bag. However, we must remember that ours is an ideological battle. Such a path demands patience, perseverance, and unwavering resolve. Our party has always chosen the path of truth, justice, and inclusivity. While the journey may be challenging, we remain steadfast in our commitment to serve the people and protect the core values of our democracy. Let us move forward with renewed determination and continue our struggle with unity and purpose.

Thank you to my brothers and sisters in Keralam for a truly decisive mandate. Congratulations to every UDF leader and worker for a hard-fought, well-run campaign. As I said before, Keralam has the talent, Keralam has the potential and now Keralam has a UDF government with a vision to harness both. I look forward to seeing my Keralam family soon ♥️

@RahulGandhi Sir something to learn from Tamilnadu, TVK mobilized in two years and won the election. Next time you project young leaders and you are bound to win. Venugopal is already an MPs, he cannot have dual role.

In many parts of Kerala, oil used in temples had to be 'purified' by the touch of a Syrian Christian. In Ep 7 of SAGA with @Arpo_IN I sat down with Pallikonam Rajeev to discuss the sociocultural & political history of the Syrian Christians. Watch here youtu.be/XuhftsGmUNw

What is happening in Great Nicobar Island raises serious questions. Thousands of acres of pristine rainforest are being cleared, without consulting local communities and with complete disregard for ecological impact. This cannot be called development. The @narendramodi Government must answer: Why push a project that people on the island themselves oppose, and why hide it from public scrutiny? I commend Shri @RahulGandhi for bringing this to the nation’s attention. At a time when many stay silent, he continues to stand with people, protect our environment, and raise the issues that truly matter.
Rahul Gandhi@RahulGandhi

I travelled through Great Nicobar today. These are the most extraordinary forests I have ever seen in my life. Trees older than memory. Forests that took generations to grow. The people on this island are equally beautiful - both the adivasi communities and the settlers - but they are being robbed of what is rightfully theirs. The government calls what it is doing here a “Project.” What I have seen is not a project. It is millions of trees marked for the axe. It is 160 square kilometres of rainforest condemned to die. It is communities that have been ignored while their homes have been snatched away. This is not development. This is destruction dressed in development’s language. So I will say it plainly, and I will keep saying it: what is being done in Great Nicobar is one of the biggest scams and gravest crimes against this country’s natural and tribal heritage in our lifetime. It must be stopped. And it can be stopped - if Indians choose to see what I have seen.

There is something deeply revealing about the outrage that followed @RahulGandhi’s criticism of Mamata Banerjee. It is not outrage rooted in principle; it is outrage rooted in preference, the expectation that the Congress must remain accommodating, even when confronted with hostility from those conveniently described as “allies.” Let us begin with a simple fact: the Congress and the All India Trinamool Congress are not in alliance in West Bengal. They are direct electoral rivals. To suggest that one must refrain from criticising the other is not a call for unity, it is a demand for submission. For years, the Congress has faced relentless attacks from regional parties, including the TMC. Its leadership has been mocked and its space systematically squeezed. Yet, when Rahul Gandhi raises questions on governance, accountability, and political conduct, the same voices that champion “free speech” suddenly demand restraint. This is not liberalism. It is selective tolerance. More importantly, this criticism does not emerge in a vacuum. West Bengal’s political landscape has long been marked by allegations of intimidation, cadre violence, and suppression of opposition voices. Congress workers have repeatedly reported being targeted and cornered. Post-poll violence and clashes during elections are part of the state’s political reality. In such a scenario, what is Rahul Gandhi expected to do, remain silent? That would not be statesmanship. It would be abdication. There is also strategic clarity here. A political ecosystem that allows governance failures or coercive practices to persist unchecked does not strengthen the opposition; it weakens it, creating space for the BJP to grow. To question that ecosystem is not to fracture the opposition, it is to restore its credibility. The discomfort arises because Rahul Gandhi has chosen candour over convenience. He has rejected the fiction that all opposition parties are natural allies at all times. He has asserted that the Congress must defend its space, its workers, and its principles. The asymmetry is striking. When regional leaders attack the Congress, it is called “assertion.” When the Congress responds, it is labelled “division.” This double standard is neither sustainable nor honest. Unity cannot be built on enforced silence. Real political partnerships are negotiated between equals, not dictated by selective outrage. Rahul Gandhi’s remarks are not a deviation from democratic norms; they are an assertion of them. They reflect a Congress unwilling to be reduced to a passive participant, and a leadership that understands political space must be defended, not surrendered. If that unsettles some, it is because it disrupts a long-standing expectation, that the Congress will always yield. That era appears to be ending.
