Credit where it’s due.
Thank you to Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher for working collaboratively to resolve the Ramsey County permit delays.
The Sheriff’s Office will now:
✅ Accept walk-in Permit to Carry applications
✅ Add staff to expand appointment availability
We appreciate the Sheriff’s willingness to work to fix the problem and ensure residents can exercise their rights without unnecessary delays. 👏

RAMSEY COUNTY PERMIT DELAYS Ramsey County residents are being forced to wait weeks—sometimes months—just to schedule an appointment to apply for or renew a Permit to Carry. Worse? The Sheriff’s Office is refusing walk-in applications altogether. Minnesota law doesn’t say “when convenient.” It says the Sheriff shall accept and process applications. After weeks of attempting to resolve this amicably, we’ve sent a formal legal demand to the Ramsey County Sheriff and County Attorney. They have 5 business days to fix this. If they don’t, we’re ready to file suit. We already have plaintiffs lined up who’ve been harmed. The right to bear arms isn’t subject to bureaucratic slow-walking.

The DC Court of Appeals (D.C.'s equivalent of a state supreme court) just struck down a conviction under DC's mag ban, ruling it is unconstitutional!

@mnguncaucus A familiar ritual in #mnleg committees. Once the experts leave the table, certain legislators slag the testimony.
The tactic is obvious: the testimony can be dismissed/recast without risk of reply, quietly granting the final word to those who refused to engage in good faith.

Applause broke out after our testimony opposing the Capitol Carry Ban.
Then Rep. Bahner responded after our witness had left the table, claiming legislators face threats from “guns looming over your head.”
For 20+ years, lawful permit holders have been at the Capitol during heated debates.
There has been no pattern of violence from permit holders.
