Plenty of unis used some variant w no problem, this is just evidence that AI + low IQ = bigger problems than not using AI at all

what kills me about this is that they wanted to use an ai tool to announce the graduates (even if that's the dumbest shit ever), they didn't think to stop it the second it skipped over a name & have someone read the names themselves, that they let hundreds of students go uncalled

Even in a great use case, if you have someone using it who doesn’t care to do their job well, it’s going to crash and burn and people are going to blame AI when it’s a bad actor/lazy ass person failing to take any accountability for using a new tool

Hundreds of universities used AI to read people’s names at graduation this spring
It’s actually quite possibly one of the lowest lift, highest reward instances of using AI to ensure correct pronunciation bc grads get to approve it months ahead of time
