@PierrePoilievre I recall a certain MP who was rejected by voters in the last election, who then went on to make a backroom deal with the MP of Battle River-Crowfoot to vacate his seat so he could run in a by-election.

Mark Carney is using back room deals to seize a costly majority that voters rejected, which will enable Liberals to balloon debt, inflate the cost of living, block resources and turn criminals loose on our streets. Conservatives will do what we promised voters: fight for a Canada that is affordable, safe and strong at home and unbreakable abroad.

@acoyne I thought it had to be satire. But he was serious.

@acoyne This is less about the appointment of judges and more about starting a new fight with the federal government to keep the UCP base angry.

This is true. It is also true of the Alberta Sovereignty Act. It is also true of Bill 96 in Quebec. It’s true of some of what Saskatchewan has been doing. Provinces have been openly and repeatedly flouting the Constitution — not just the Charter, but the division of powers — and getting away with it. Because nobody pushes back.

Corey Hogan on Danielle Smith's judicial appointment demands: "You can't create a new power out of powers that you do have. You can't say, 'I want to appoint federal judges. So I'm just going to withhold funding to federal judges.' That's not the way the Constitution works."

It is with humility and appreciation that I have accepted Damien Kurek’s offer to resign his seat in Battle River-Crowfoot so that I can work to earn the support of citizens there to serve them in Parliament. Damien’s selfless act to step aside temporarily as a Member of Parliament shows his commitment to change and restoring Canada’s promise. I will work to earn the trust of the good people of Battle River-Crowfoot and I will continue to hold the Liberal minority government to account until the next federal election, when we will bring real change to all Canadians.

So, there are rumours that @PierrePoilievre may take a seat in Edmonton. Let me say this. I hope he does because when Alberta separates, he will lose his seat for a second time. That would be impressive to see. On a more serious note, the people in Edmonton didn't vote for Pierre and it is so wrong to circumvent the democratic process to save face for a part leader. He lost his seat after 20 years of service in his riding. The voters have spoken. To now insert yourself as an unelected member because you are the party leader is very Globalist and elitist of him. Even @MarkJCarney didn't do that, he called an election to win his seat. I hope the people in the riding get loud about this and reject this "appointment" because the facts are, Pierre lost, he took the CPC down with him, and imposing himself on voters who didn't vote for him would be the end of his political career and the CPC. Be a leader, and step down. At least @theJagmeetSingh had just enough class to do so.

@c_sideSquid @hankgreen @BennettTomlin If Chinese citizens are not allowed to see content on TikTok...that means it is "banned". Being able to see state controlled content on a similar platform does not change that.

Tiktok is banned in China, which makes this whole conversation almost otherworldly.

Homeopathy postulates that a remedy becomes more effective when the active ingredient is diluted out of existence. It’s fraud. In Ontario, it’s a regulated profession. By legitimatizing pseudoscience, this regulatory body undermines its mandate and fails to protect the public.

Fewer research $$ invested and large studies are harder to conduct for rare cancers compared to more common cancers ➡️ Small trials that show strong patient outcomes are often dismissed because they aren’t meeting an antiquated standard #WorldCCADay bit.ly/3xoWLsa
