You can breathe a bit easier Runners. Sony’s CFO Lin Tao confirmed Marathon will continue to be supported! Here is what they said in full - “In our studio business, earnings from Bungie's title portfolio did not reach our expectations, so we downwardly revised our business plan and impaired the full amount of the fixed assets related to Bungie except for goodwill. Player reception to Marathon is strong, with the game receiving a Metacritic score of 82 and more than 90% of the player reviews on Steam being positive. Engagement metrics such as retention also remain at a high level. Going forward, we aim to improve the performance of the game by working to retain highly engaged core users through the introduction of additional content, further improvements in the gameplay experience and expansion of the user base.”

I have to stop playing Marathon so that I can responsibly work on Marathon But I don’t want to I want to do key runs and Anomaly runs and play Ranked and finish my Mida priorities and get VIP in Sekiguchi and Mida and and and 😭

Marathon went a little too hardcore and it was one of its biggest mistakes. One thing that should have never happened is releasing a hardcore extraction shooter with no form of a safe pocket. No other game in the genre has done it. With all the hate and things working against it they should not have attempted to reinvent the wheel. I promise you if they had some form of safe pocket its outcome would be different. In this day and age where everyone cheats and exploits because they suck and hate losing you have to have a way for people to get wins even in their loses. If I was @MarathonDevTeam I would implement a safe pocket immediately for season 2

@Ziegler_Dev can we do a weekly rotating map for sponsored only playlist ? Perm add to the game. As someone who cant play much this eases the tension and causes me to have way more fun. Social variety is what made Arc raiders so popular

As much as I dislike this Pavia signing for obvious reasons, never doubt the @Ravens. Ozzie Newsome & Eric DeCosta are arguably the best in the business & have been since the team came to Baltimore in ‘96. Imagine the storyline if this kid cleans up his attitude & plays well..

Hot Take Dissapointed most Marathon streamers feel obligated to play Ranked. It isn’t fun, and you’re exposing yourself to stream snipers & cheaters in one of the worst game genres. Why this sucks as a fan of the game, is that people are constantly exposing their fans & viewers to the worst Marathon has to offer. This isn’t going to convince anyone to stay on the game, let alone buy the game. The vibe from creators shifted from hyping the game & showing off the best of Marathon to an already burnt-out topic, cheaters & stream snipers. This isn’t blaming creators, honestly. It can be taken that way, so my b. I’m a fan of the game and avoiding ranked seems like the best thing I can do as a creator if I want to see Marathon grow. Ultimately, this is on Bungie. Always has & always will be. It’s embarrassing. Big talk about no cheating policy. They succeeded at baiting people with that & being one of the first extraction games with ranked. This is going to backfire badly if they don’t take some form of action. A game convo being surrounded by cheats, an extraction game, is going to do irreperable damage to the game’s image & their player morale. Thanks for reading. :)
