@Sacramentshow Yet history show disagreement between popes and councils, with belief and practice changing when someone new comes into power. Politics should have no influence, yet it does. Same with Protestants. The faithful will be a small minority at the end.

Im not arguing disagreement invalidates Scripture. Im asking how sola scriptura resolves doctrinal disputes authoritatively when sincere Christians reach contradictory conclusions from the same text. Catholicism at least has a mechanism to define doctrine through councils and the Magisterium

Serious question If the Bible alone is the final authority, why do sincere Christians reach opposite conclusions from the same text while all claiming the Holy Spirit guided them?

@TheMoneyApe It seems at this point that Iran cannot reach agreement with themselves. The Trump administration has held firm to their demands, but not the other side. The “largely negotiated” agreement may have holdouts among the hardliners of the regime. Meanwhile the blockade remains.

@KR3Wmatic Saying “no” on a habitable world precisely orbiting the sun in space where the slightest wobble would end all life, is saying “this all happened by…” what? I know of two options, do you know a third which makes any sense? Otherwise Evolution IS what you must accept without God.

Evolution is not atheism. Cosmology is not atheism. Abiogenesis is not atheism. Atheism is the one-word answer, “No,” to the question “Do you believe in any gods?” Nothing else.

@Craney_85 @JohnCTokalenko What I don’t like about protestantism is how you got “don't need the Vatican, I can just read it for myself” from that verse. You just make it up. Interesting interpretation tactic.

Catholics don't place the Church "over" the Bible. We just believe that the Church outranks you in all matters Biblical. When there's a disagreement between you and the Church regarding what the Bible really teaches, the Church's pronouncement carries more weight than yours.

@Sacramentshow Without Abraham and Isaac, there is no Mary. No one prays to Abraham, who like Mary, is resting in the grave waiting for the resurrection when Jesus returns. See Revelation 14:7; 19:10, Psalm 29:2, etc, to know who to worship.

Serious question If honoring Mary automatically equals worship then why does the Bible say all generations will call me blessed? Why does Gabriel call her full of grace? Why does Elizabeth praise her above all women? Is scripture honoring Mary or are modern Christians redefining worship?

@BraunHB0 @Randomlyscript Exactly, God (Elohim) created two beings to become “One flesh”(Genesis 2:24), and this oneness would multiply. You can only assume the “Divine Council), which isn’t stated in the passage. “Our image” = “His Image”. Elohim is plural as you know.

@robert_rdw952 @Randomlyscript Genesis 1:26 is God addressing his heavenly court (Divine Council/Angels) which is a common ancient Near Eastern motif (seen in 1 Kings 22 and Job 1) or the Royal Plural. Look at the next verse (Gen 1:27): "So God created man in His own image." The text switches to singular.

Muslims love to say Jesus never taught the Trinity. I used to think that too until I noticed something wild in the story of the adulterous woman. The Pharisees drag this woman before Jesus, ready to stone her, trying to trap Him with the law. And what does Jesus do? He bends down and starts writing in the dirt. I used to skim past that part until I read Exodus 31:18: God gave Moses the law written by the finger of God. Suddenly Jesus writing in the dirt was not random anymore. He was signaling something massive: “The law you’re trying to use against me? I’m the one who wrote it.” Then it gets deeper. Jeremiah 17:13 says those who reject the Lord, the fountain of living water, will have their names written in the dust. And in John 7, Jesus says He is the source of living water and then points directly to the Holy Spirit. So in one moment you have: The Son revealing authority over the Law. The Father’s identity tied to the Lawgiver. The Holy Spirit described as living water flowing from Christ. And then Jesus forgives the woman. This is not random storytelling. This is theology happening in real time. Jesus did reveal the Trinity. He just did it through law, living water, forgiveness, prophecy, and symbolism that the Jewish audience standing there would have understood immediately. People miss it because they only listen to what Jesus said instead of watching what He was doing. Pray for eyes to see it.

@TheRealJamieKay You cite ONE passage without the full context. Consider Exodus 12:48,49 which gives specific requirements for allowing non-citizens to be welcomed. All others were to be driven out or destroyed if they refused to leave. Many verses saying that. Truth requires honesty.

Funny how these ‘patriotic Christians’ never seem to follow this part of the Bible. Leviticus 19:33–34.

@DeeFeeCee @McClureShawn Plants before the sun… so what? Sun was there the next day. 1st day was LIGHT. My seedlings grow under lights 6-8 weeks before they see the sun. My garden produces excellent produce every year. God’s grow light was better than mine.

@robert_rdw952 @McClureShawn Yeah, he said he loved the world so much, yet dooms billions to hell because he won’t as much as prove himself. He says he’s wise, but decided to communicate via error-prone translation. He said he created plants before the sun & birds before land animals. Completely wrong.

Atheism merely rejects what theism has failed to demonstrate. Atheism is not a belief in anything—it's a failure to accept or denial of the claim that there's a God to believe in at all. Don't confuse a mere "belief state" with "belief IN something"—the two are not the same.

@IsTruth86582 I'm about to the point where its just read the gospels. We as Christians are so far removed from the original message, that we need to just read what Jesus said. Stay away from all the other nonsense. First century Christians had no bible.

@SawtelleAn5682 Objection of what? I asked a question after stating an opinion. What is the basis of your specific claim (that Jesus lied)? Your conclusion reveals you are not a believer, so why is the confrontation even an issue for you?

P1: If Christianity is true, Jesus cannot lie. P2: Jesus stated he would return before his contemporaries died. P3: Jesus did not return before his contemporaries died. C: Christianity is not true. Supporting argument negating metaphorical objection: P1: A biblical prediction is either a literal prophecy or a metaphor. P2: If it is a literal prophecy, it failed (which makes Jesus mistaken). P3: If it is a metaphor, it is not an actual prophecy (which invalidates the prophetic claim). P4: Jesus cannot be mistaken, and his prophetic claims cannot be invalid. C: The Christian theological position is self-contradictory.

@robert_rdw952 @McClureShawn I’m saying Romans doesn’t support that claim. Ecclesiastes also doesn’t say anything about the death of the soul. The closest thing to support you have is Mat10:28, but all that says is that God can destroy the soul, not that he will. & Jesus didn’t use the word “kill.”
