@Loran_Dunn Absolutely - there’s always the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow with your producer fee… which you’ll then have to cut or defer to get it over the line because no-one else on the film would ever dream of doing something like that!

@robertjwatson It’s maddening though isn’t it. Execs doing the same job as us in terms of creative development, understand they should be paid, but not us? And then we’ve actually got the responsibility and work of creating a viable pathway to production, teeing up sales, talent, financiers etc

Simple question - can anyone explain to me why writers are paid fairly for their work during development and indie producers aren’t? We all know there is no back end on these films and producers aren’t making profit, so why and how is this continually justified?

@Loran_Dunn Of course, that ignores the fact that there’s barely any development money to go around anyway, plus if you are forced to take on loads of development projects for tiny sums to pay rent, your ability to develop each project properly is massively diminished

@Loran_Dunn I guess the (wildly inaccurate) assumption is that because we’re not actually doing the physical writing, we spend less time specifically on the project and so can spread bet a load of other development projects that all pay tiny amounts…

They partied , they bet on elections , they crashed the economy, they broke every public service, they destroyed integrity and honesty in public office , they paid their mates billions , they put their friends in the House of Lords, they gave their cronies knighthoods, they went into the jungle , they lied again and again, they were convicted by police, they went on holiday when they shouldn’t and they have the cheek to question Keir Starmer’s work ethic. I would never take anything for granted but I hope they are annihilated on Thursday. The worst people and government we have ever had! P.S good afternoon all 😊❤️
