To avoid being bullied because of her pro-Ukrainian position, she was forced to pretend to be “one of them” among strangers. Today, she is safe and dreams of becoming a police officer or a soldier to defend Ukraine. 🔹 16-year-old Oleksii, who experienced the abduction of his father by the occupiers. FSB officers detained the man at a checkpoint and held him in a basement for three months, while the family wassubjected to interrogations and threats. The boy did not wait until he turned 17 — he left to avoid being registered for military service in Russia. 🔹 18-year-old Andrii, who was interrogated by Russian police simply for using the Ukrainian language in private messages. Fortunately, today he is already in Ukraine and can freely speak his native languagewithout fear of punishment. These and ten more children rescued last week have already received a chance for a new life. All of them are now staying in our Hope and Healing Centers, where they receive psychological support, assistance with documents, housing, and care — everything they need to start dreaming again and building their future. Unfortunately, thousands of Ukrainians remain hostages of the occupiers. The invaders are intensifying militarization, forcibly mobilizing youth, and blocking escape routes. But we continue to fight. 🙏 We are grateful to our partners @Klitschko, We Are All Ukrainians, The Humanity Funds, and the Joint Center for Coordination of Search and Release — together, we are bringing Ukrainian children back home. Thanks to Save Ukraine, over 1,000 children are already home.

A Strategic Reserve is being established under the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. We’re working on this together with Artur Lorkowski, Director of the @Ener_Community Secretariat. The Reserve already has €197 million in available funding. It will enable Ukrainian energy companies to build up equipment stocks ahead of next winter and draw on those reserves for repairs when needed. Grateful to the Energy Community Secretariat and all donors to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, which has now received over €1.87 billion in contributions. _____ У межах Фонду підтримки енергетики України буде створено Стратегічний Резерв. The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Ukraine has concluded that, based on the evidence collected, Russian authorities have committed crimes against humanity, including the deportation and forcible transfer of Ukrainian children, as well as their enforced disappearance. In its report, the Commission documented systemic violations of international humanitarian law and human rights committed by Russia in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Key findings of the report: 🔹 Deportation of Ukrainian children The Commission confirmed the deportation of at least 1,205 Ukrainian children, including 995 who had been transferred even before the start of the full-scale invasion from 11 institutions located in the so-called “LNR” and “DNR”. International law permits only the temporary evacuation of children for imperative reasons. Instead, Russia coordinated the long-term transfer and placement of Ukrainian children on its territory. Some of the deported children were placed for adoption with Russian military personnel and officials. Their documents were altered and Russian citizenship was imposed on them, further complicating their return home. 🔹 Sham trials against civilians During the occupation, dozens of Ukrainian civilians — including children and teenagers — were brought before so-called courts, often on fabricated charges. Those targeted included employees of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, former ATO veterans, relatives of Ukrainian servicemembers, and individuals whom the occupation authorities considered pro-Ukrainian. 🔹 Sexual violence The Commission documented cases of sexual violence committed by Russian military personnel against women, girls, men, and prisoners of war. These crimes occurred during house searches, in villages under occupation, and in detention facilities. Victims ranged in age from 13 to 52 years old, many suffering severe physical and psychological trauma. 🔹 Obstacles to the return of children Even when families know where their children are located, bringing them home remains extremely difficult. The report highlights that more than 80% of the children whose cases were examined by the Commission have not yet been returned. Russia has not established any mechanism for the safe and prompt return of deported children. Families are forced to navigate complex bureaucratic procedures, gather documents for months or even years, and travel through dangerous routes across multiple borders. In some cases, relatives were denied entry or threatened with accusations of cooperating with Ukraine in order to prevent them from retrieving their children. Some children have been returned only thanks to the efforts of Ukraine, human rights organizations, and international partners. Russia must be held accountable. We will not stop until every Ukrainian child is brought back home. #BringKidsBack

Today, the Ukrainian delegation in Brussels received the European Union’s accession benchmarks for the final three negotiating clusters. This means Ukraine now has the full set of requirements to meet for EU membership. Ukraine is moving confidently along its path to European integration. The swift completion of the official screening of Ukrainian legislation for compliance with EU law demonstrates the country’s institutional capacity and readiness to move to the next stage. The next steps are successful closure of the clusters and signing of the Accession Treaty, the final step toward Ukraine’s full membership in the European Union. Today, Ukraine received the details for Cluster 3 “Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth,” Cluster 4 “Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity,” and Cluster 5 “Resources, Agriculture and Cohesion Policy.” In December, the Ukrainian side received the benchmarks for three other clusters: Cluster 1 “Fundamentals of the EU Accession Process,” Cluster 2 “Internal Market,” and Cluster 6 “External Relations.” The Ukrainian government will continue to fulfill the accession requirements, implement the necessary reforms and measures, and report to the EU on progress. Russian propaganda channels are reporting that this year, at least 2,000 children from the occupied Zaporizhzhia region are expected to be drawn into the military-patriotic game "Zarnitsa 2.0." Starting this year, the age of eligibility has been lowered to include children from ages 7 to 23. On the surface, this is presented as a "game" or an "educational project." In reality, it is a component of the systematic militarization of Ukrainian children. Participants are trained to operate in units and perform mock military roles. This year, they are even introducing a new specialty: "signalman," where children will be taught encryption and information transmission. These programs are implemented with the involvement of "Yunarmiya" and other structures linked to the Russian military, with war veterans serving as mentors. It is crucial to understand: this is not about children’s leisure. In the temporarily occupied territories, Russia aims to transform Ukrainian children into a generation loyal to the Kremlin. This is a generation being groomed to view their true Homeland as the enemy and the occupier as a "motherland" that must be defended. It is a generation designed to follow Russia into any future war without hesitation. And a look at history shows that Russia has almost never stopped waging wars. Today, Ukrainian children are being trained for military roles; tomorrow, they will be forced to fight. This is how a generation is formed to forget its country, its history, and its identity. The world must respond to these facts as seriously as it responds to any other crimes against children. Help us make this issue visible. Pleased to meet with @MartaKosEU, EU Commissioner for Enlargement. Discussed the start of preparations for the next winter, including Ukraine’s priorities, needs, and key tasks. We are counting on the EU’s support in developing decentralized generation and strengthening the resilience of regions. We also coordinated Ukraine’s progress toward its European integration goals under the energy agenda. Work on legislation is ongoing, in particular on the Electricity Integration Package, which is crucial for integrating Ukraine’s electricity market with the EU. Recently, the President of Ukraine also signed an important law aimed at improving conditions for electricity generation from RES. We discussed our internal situation in Ukraine, some political issues, our positions on the front line and in diplomacy, information from our intelligence, the work of Ukrainian experts on drone defense in the Middle East, as well as relations with key partners. Our team is now on its way to the Gulf region, where they can help protect lives and stabilize the situation. We see the challenges that exist now: the Iranian regime has effectively blocked the Strait of Hormuz – one of the main routes for supplying oil and gas to the global market. This is a major source of instability. No one in the world can yet say how long all of this will last, but it is important that the protection of life starts working effectively as soon as possible. Stability is important for us as well. Those now seeking Ukraine’s help must continue to assist our own defense – first and foremost, our air defense. Last year we already proposed a drone agreement to the United States. This is the right way forward: to partner with us in the production and use of drones, and everyone now sees that there is no alternative to this approach. Ukraine has the greatest experience in the world in countering attack drones, and without our experience it will be very difficult for the Gulf region, the entire Middle East, and partners in Europe and America to build strong protection.

Women’s rights apply at all times and everywhere. On International Women’s Day, we reaffirm: advancing gender equality worldwide is a core priority of Austrian foreign policy. ♀️🌍 #InternationalWomensDay2026
