@levelsio Have you tried using an equality nice open source ChatGPT clone like LibreChat and plug Claude or other models behind to test it out?

I tried to switch to Claude Then had to switch back to ChatGPT after 2 days Claude's app is still a UX and UI nightmare, the paper color background and font is just super ugly to me, the entire layout actively annoys me using it Claude's (well Anthropic's) models are way better though, their company philosophy is better, I trust them and I don't trust ChatGPT for shit with ex-NSA on their board now But in the end UX wins, and ChatGPT's is just way better so I'll keep using that

Done: ✅ Fully functional 1994 PC on pieter.com ✅ 56k6 internet connection with real modem ✅ Virtual ISP by @bai0 that scales to 250+ users ✅ mIRC chat app works with irc.pieter.com and you can send and receive messages ✅ Eudora mail app works with mail.pieter.com and lets you send and receive emails (only within @pieter.com) ✅ WS_FTP app can connect to ftp.pieter.com and download files ✅ Lots of games run perfectly now like DOOM etc. Next: - Install virtual ISDN connection (128kbps-512kbps), to speed up internetting 3x to 10x - Speed up CPU, the PC sometimes gets very slow esp when running Netscape, and it crashes when you write an email with Eudora - Increase RAM memory - Increase display resolution from 800x600 to 1280x960 for more space - Switch emulator from em-dosbox to dosbox-x which seems to be way more stable Feedback: - If you have ideas on what else to add let me know, the idea is to build a fully functional 1994-type PC that'll keep running forever and slowly becomes an actual part of the internet

MEGA update: 🥳 IT WORKS: we now have a working dial up internet connection on a virtual Windows 3.11 computer running inside a browser over a virtual modem that talks via Websockets to a PPP daemon! So you can open pieter.com, open the computer, browse the web and even open the page you're on itself again at pieter.com, or chat inside mIRC chat app on irc.pieter.com, or browse gopher:// or whatever you like to do Probably the nerdiest challenge I've ever taken on for the totally arbitrary reason that it seemed completely impossible to do this but we did it (now need to test it more so that it works with 250 parallel users at same time, but the prototype works now, so if you ask why it's not live yet) @bai0, probably one of 2 people in the world who knows how to do this, helped fix my setup and created a virtual dial up internet provider for me that we can dial in to Somehow my mouse doesn't work yet, so I had to do it with the keyboard but here we run Winsock to dial up on a virtual modem that runs then emulates a virtual dial up ISP over Websockets [Next todo] - Fix the mouse - Make the 90mb emulated file smaller - See if it doesn't die with 10 or 50 parallel users - Speed up the Em-Dosbox emulator a bit so it's more usable

Just another example of Google's endless interface problems: To add your products to Google Shopping, you have to add a return policy, cool no problem But they won't just let you add the same policy worldwide Instead, you have to manually add 200 countries, then you have to manually select those 200 countries again 400 clicks in total to add your return policy! And now my wrist hurts Nobody is at the wheel at Google right now

Damn I had no idea it was THIS small That's what she said It was $15 btw I have 0 knowledge about this or Arduino either or electronic hardware in general but apparently ESP32s are just cheap Arduino-compatible devices? As always ChatGPT is leading me through this cause I know nothing but now I compiled my first app and it scans for WiFi networks and it already works So cute Now I wanna see if we can run a web server on this? Does it run Nginx? I know it does not run a whole Linux install apparently

Found this really cool Base Template for .NET that includes OAuth 2.0, tutorials, source code, paypal integration. Looks like a good way to jumpstart a business web app with a TON of boilerplate swiftoneidentity.com

@levelsio @Wise although I do have a Wise Business account I personally only use my personal account there and never had problems. For business though I've switched from SVB to Mercury and am pretty happy with their service so far. Definitely recommend it!
