@melvynhills I recently did a TT between Asia and Europe. Took 3 weeks. At some point I even thought they had lost the money as neither banks could tell me where the funds were. 🤷‍♂️

Still no settlement for a standard bank transfer 6 days ago. Oh yeah I forgot there was the standard delay, then the week-end, then a bank holiday on Monday. But everything's fine 🤡

I've never had a century egg but I want to try one. Always see them at the store but I don't know the right way to eat them. I want a fancy century egg at a restaurant 😩

@citizen428 This is nice! I’ve done something similar where I leave a note with how the comment should be taken. Something like “feel free to disregard” for example. But this is more concise.

@scomma I use another software but it’s very hard for me to keep track of cash spending. I just enter one line as cash.

@robinclart @sunny36 YNAB came highly recommended by (who else) Sirn. I think it’s a game changer if you’re trying to get out of debt, but nice to have otherwise.

@scomma @sunny36 Worse. Copy paste from Citi website. Dump into text file. Parse with a ruby script to categorize. Then copy paste output to a Google Sheet.

@scomma @sunny36 That I have a script for my CC though. My solution is home grown but works well enough. Never tried YNAB though. Do you recommend it?

@robinclart @sunny36 Yeah bundling them up can make sense for cash stuff, but a key benefit for doing detailed entry is it will match up line by line with your card statements.

@sunny36 @scomma I tried before and never managed to do it correctly. Now I do a single stipend line item for lunches, and other small cash purchases. That simplified my home budget enough that I basically only care once a month about it and take me 30 minutes.

@scomma Do you ever forget items from petty cash? for ex. you bought something and forgot to enter what do you enter it as unknown?

@melvynhills Fish as well. Full featured and sane defaults. My fish config file is less than 50 lines, mostly ENV vars and aliases. To replicate the same experience in zsh I’d probably need 10 times that plus a bunch of plugins.

Devs on OSX: Bash or Zsh? Why?

@sikachu Asymmetry in this case is better IMO. But I tend to favor Sign In and Register to accentuate the difference even further.

Programmer: Use "Sign Up" and "Sign In" for symmetry. UX Designer: Use "Sign Up" and "Log In" to reduce user's confusion. 😥

Apple Marcom team really should go through the site and check for Xs/XS/XR/Xr consistency. I've seen both of them being used on Apple Site. :/

@gridth1 In the broken department I’m also on a streak. I nearly burned down my condo yesterday with an induction cooker. Last weekend with the rice cooker. And destroyed my blender the week before that.
