Forget 10x devs. OSS produces 2000x cost to value🤯.
> We estimate the supply-side value of widely-used OSS is $4.15 billion, but that the demand-side value is much larger at $8.8 trillion.

Firms would need to spend 3.5 times more on software than they currently do if open source did not exist. The top six programming languages in our sample comprise 84% of the demand-side value of OSS. Further, 96% of the demand-side value is created by only 5% of OSS developers. Hoffman et al., 2024

@eavoss Again, nothing against that but thought maybe the reviews could be a lot better if you can see it from a more “eastern” perspective. It will make a lot of those “accept the force” (yoda scene w anakin, jecki being “honored” etc) kinda thing makes a lot more sense.

@eavoss Watched NR breakdown of EP4 and can’t help but notice your mention of “skipping” of phases of grief by the Jedi masters. I have nothing against that but just felt like maybe you have not read up enough on eastern religion study which designs of Jedi are somewhat influenced by.

Yes, the machines have already taken most of our jobs—and that's a good thing. They took jobs away from children, who now go to school. They took jobs away from the elderly, who now retire. They take our jobs on evenings, weekends, and vacations. And they took all the most dirty, difficult, and dangerous jobs that no one wants to do.
