If you haven't seen the Wireless Config Analyzer, it's one of the helpful tools in the Cisco Support Tools Catalog that can be used freely (upon login): cisco.com/c/en/us/suppor… It helps validate the wireless config you might have deployed on a Catalyst 9800 and gives you some best practice recommendations. It points out things that need attention too.

@pelatetintan @thedatabunny Not exactly, they are announced end of Sale, but still supported through 2029. Still surprised to see a new deployment so late in that life cycle.

@TracketPacer I was recently doing an SDWAN replacement remotely all over the country. I'm on the East Coast, and when I had to wake up 3 hours early at 4am to cut West Coast sites over, it was like mother nature kicking sand in my eyes. Soooo, I feel your pain girl!

@GKavelines Tell him the ASA5506 is going end of life in 2026 and that he should migrate to a FORTIGATE 80F or a 90G. ...I'm just saying....the kids gotta know....

@danieldibswe In this case I would do an L3 connection. I would prefer an L2 in instances where I might want to sneak in a vlan extension alongside the SVI, but if there's never going to be a need to extending L2, then L3 all day.

You have two L3 devices. You want to run a routing protocol like OSPF or BGP between them. You need multiple links for load sharing. Would you do: 1. L2 bundle with SVIs. 2. L3 bundle with routed ports. 3. Routed links with ECMP. Motivate your answer.

@Warcop I don't think that a switch should be used in place of a router, when a router is truly required. If you need to accept full BGP routes, I don't think you should try that with your trusty 9300 switch, but for basic branch collapsed core, no brainier. IPSEC on 9300 is very cool!
