@karenaspwriter Not limited to traffic emissions; still, another reason working from home (rather than commuting) makes so much sense…

We've updated our infographic on diseases that can be transmitted through the air we breathe, adding Norovirus. Most viruses can survive for one to several hours in a poorly ventilated room. See the excellent article in @nytimes on this topic: nypost.com/2026/02/14/hea…

In a kitchen too, JaspAir – our CO2 monitor penguin – can help you know when to ventilate. Red means it's time to ventilate.

Prayer for Dementia: O Lord, you who sojourn with us in the shadowlands, be present, we pray, to Uncle John as he drifts confusedly about in that disorienting place between memory and oblivion, so that he might experience your enfolding peace & palpable presence this day. Amen.

What if our churches were places where no one ever felt truly lonely? "The toll loneliness takes on the cardiovascular system, increasing blood pressure and heart rate, can have a detrimental effect on the brain," in addition to neurodegenerative diseases.nytimes.com/2024/05/09/wel…

Alzheimer’s doesn’t start at diagnosis.
It starts decades earlier — with inflammation, vascular damage, immune dysregulation.
COVID hits all of those pathways. I’ll keep my respirator on ✌🏼

A Morning Prayer: O Lord, we offer to you this day our small deeds of love that may go un-noticed or un-thanked, and ask that you would bless them, so that we might know the joy of loving you in and through such little things. Amen. (via “Prayers for the Pilgrimage”)

As you may already know, "If you have recently been feeling unwell with a sore throat and fever, chances are you may have caught one of the new COVID strains (XFG called 'Stratus' or NB.1.8.1 called 'Nimbus') spreading this autumn.. one particular symptom caused by these new strains might last for life. Loss of smell was one of the hallmark symptoms of earlier COVID infections.. [It was recently found that] for many people, this problem never completely goes away.. two years after infection, nearly 80% of participants who had reported a change in their sense of smell still performed poorly in scent-recognition tests. Around one in four had severe smell loss or had lost the ability entirely.. The Stratus variant shows a slightly different pattern of illness.., such as a hoarse or raspy voice.. Other possible symptoms of Stratus include: -shortness of breath, -chest tightness, -body aches, -headaches, -nausea, -stomach upset, -loss of appetite, -brain fog, and -a change in taste or smell.." 'The new COVID strain may leave you with a lifelong symptom, study reveals' healthandme.com/health-wellnes…
