Gentrification discourse feels a decade out of date. In large parts of the country the opposite is happening. Family streets are becoming HMO havens, mini-marts and vape shops are everywhere. Tags and e-scooters the visual shorthand for once handsome towns & cities.

@robmarkcole It does seem counterintuitive when you'd expect there to be a higher demand for data than ever, but I guess it must be much harder to stop people using LLMs to cheat and the need now is for high quality expert labels that are harder to curate.

The shuttering of Mechanical Turk reminds me how I used it to earn money as a teenager - my most profitable week I labelled almost 20k items to receive $186, which seemed like a huge amount of money at the time!
