Back in around 1996/7 (yes it's 30years ago!) Channel 4 was still quite an alternative arty channel. Between 11pm and 5am it used to show arty foreign and British films, which I recorded on VCR whilst asleep. They had few ad breaks at that ungodly hour as well. Good drama!

@SuzieWo20886208 These were my babysitting years. I saw some amazing tv and it opened my eyes up to cinema from all around the world. I still remember the night I saw Hard Boiled and it blew my tiny teenage mind. It made the later enshittification of Ch4 all the more heartbreaking for me
