@robwilliams4 @Krzws1 @cowlonfull Because they were one the best in their region while United isn't in their own region. See how that works? Italy isn't good enough from their own region. Remember that the PL is tougher, but it doesn't matter.

What you truly want is a closed system. Why stop at the international game? Why should Tottenham get relegated and Coventry get promoted when Tottenham are a better team? Why allow smaller teams to play at all?

@heno07 @philmcnulty Love Garner (and liked the idea of him coming back when his contract was up in the air) but I think Anderson is on another level. He’ll go for ~£100 million in the summer and I’ve no doubt he’ll kick on to a whole other level. Agree Garner’s versatility makes him a strong pick

@robwilliams4 @philmcnulty I like Anderson but Garner schooled him twice this season, can do the same role as Anderson always plays but he’s also played further forward too, takes set pieces and is Everton’s best left and right backs too.

@ShaneRaline @heno07 @philmcnulty I would rather take Garner, but may be biased as he was great for Forest. Mainoo’s been good under Carrick but I don’t think either will see much of the pitch if they make the 26.

Today was the day the National Pool finally got some traction. Shout out from @D_C_W about Max Alleyne on the excellent @England_Pod. If ever you need to know how many injuries are required before Keinan Davis gets a call-up, I’m your man.

@MattTrutweinSBE @England_Pod I reckon the squad might be 30 strong in March as there’s a few on the fringes Tuchel will want to see (Palmer, Madueke etc) and some positions with big injury question marks (centre back, full back). But agree Mané would be a wildcard

England close on World Cup qualification. Impressive strength in depth. Still a debate over left-back and left-wing. If everyone fit (always a big if), England’s 26-man World Cup squad could be formed of (4-2-3-1) … First XI: Pickford; James, Konsa, Guehi, Lewis-Skelly; Anderson, Rice; Saka, Bellingham, Madueke; Kane. Second XI: Henderson; Alexander-Arnold, Stones, Colwill, Livramento; Gibbs-White, Wharton; Bowen, Palmer, Rashford; Watkins. Plus Trafford (g) and three from: Lewis, Spence, Chalobah, Branthwaite, Jones, Gallagher, Rogers, Eze, Gordon, Foden, Grealish, Henderson and Burn. Tuchel will definitely take Rogers and he loves Henderson and Burn. Outsiders: Gomes, Mainoo, Solanke, Hall. Both Toney and Walker surely out of contention now. Age-group long-shot: Nwaneri?
