I really wish there were 30 hours in a day lately.
Between researching, analyzing, learning, and building AI, plus meeting people, 24 hours just isn't enough.
It feels like I'm surviving on 2 to 3 hours of sleep a day.
It's not just me either.
All my dev friends who are deep into AI are in the exact same situation.
But honestly, I'm having more fun than ever before.

@YaelOss This is straight up monopolization of the exact kind antitrust law forbids. Apple has built all of the APIs necessary for world class digital assistants. But they simply block all competitors so that their own vastly inferior AI assistant doesn’t lose to better products.

DMA is not compatible with Apple's model because it does not allow vertically integrated digital experiences.
Not every part of the value chain to consumers has to be forcibly open. There are trade-offs

EXCLUSIVE: Apple and the EU are telling very different stories on Siri AI, and right now, it's a standoff. Apple's press release and comments to @LelloucheNico say the DMA would force it to give rival assistants deep access to messages, files, photos, app actions, and personal context, creating privacy/security risks. I reached out to the EU Commission for comment, and they discussed it today (video below). They said nothing in the DMA blocks Siri AI. Apple can launch it if it complies, but it must give rivals "equivalent access" and can’t use iOS to favour its own AI. Apple proposed a “Trusted System Agent” and an 18-month rollout to ensure only approved third-party agents could run. The Commission says they weren't "DMA-compliant interoperability proposals." Whatever that means. This is a standoff over who controls the AI layer on iPhone. The EU isn’t protecting user choice here. It’s trying to regulate the iPhone’s AI layer, and EU users are the ones losing out. iPhone users can already download ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity. Apps like @poppysimplified can use your Mac to get system-level access for AI assistant apps. The EU is demanding default, system-level access for any third-party app that claims to be an AI assistant. Which is dangerous, especially given Apple's privacy-focused AI stance. Apple, respectably, is not bowing down.

there’s a ton of anxiety and bold statements around what the design role is going to be. i don’t think we fully know yet!
…and it might not even be one role anymore, but 3 different ones, or 1 mega hybrid role.
personally, i’m releasing that anxiety of what design *should* be and focusing on the skills of making good product, given our new tools. the rest will play itself out with time and model improvements.

@gormankind @Riyvir I think there’s a lot of shapes of designers and there isn’t one right or wrong one nor a clear end state 🤗 some will be front end eng, some strategists, some orchestrators, some storytellers, some visual artists, some all of the above. all are valid and exciting

Just checked Jony Ive’s design firm LoveFrom and am confused by the landing page.
It’s only a 30-second animation of a bear walking on a logo. No e-mail capture, about page, pricing or CTA button.
How will clients know the offering or how much it costs or how to contact Jony?

It’s one fundamental field of vertices that gets rendered based on a combination of skins and physics system.
We animate the world.
TLDR, I think they have enough time to dial in the physics and the rest will grow in parallel

The biggest complaint I see about the UE6 update is it probably won’t be on steam I love steam more than anyone but like why is this such a big deal? Just something to complain about or is there a real reason
