I've been a Suns fan since 1975. The Sunderella Suns and Gar Heard's "shot heard round the world" just completely won me over.

The Suns can clinch at least the 9th seed by beating the Hornets. If they beat the Hornets and Portland loses to the Pelicans, they clinch at least the 8th seed.

@scooperhoops Why not do a real lottery where teams draw blank envelopes containing player names. Who draws 1st in that situation wouldn't matter that much as teams wouldn't actually have control of who they get. It would at least be interesting as hell to watch. 👀

@KeithSmithNBA This is why I don't do podcasts. When I write, I have plenty of time to check my sources/files and look up things that I either don't know or am unsure about. My hat is off to those who do them, but they're not for me.

This feels pretty accurate. I know for myself, when I don't write for a while, I feel less connected. Less accurate. And less, I guess, myself. I don't pretend to be a great writer, but I'm a better writer than a podcaster.
Kendall Baker@kendallbaker

Hot take: Most sports journalists get worse at analysis when they stop writing and go full podcast/video mode. And it makes sense why. Writing forces you to slow down and organize your thoughts. Writing is where you pressure-test your ideas. Podcasts let you just… say stuff.

With his 1st NBA game appearance in the Suns/Raptors game tonight, CJ Huntley became just the 2nd player from Appalachian State University to play in the NBA. The 1st was Belus Smawley who played in the NBA from 1946 to 1952.

Until last night, I still had some hope that the Suns could claw their way up to the 6th seed before the end of the season. Now I'm just hoping that they don't collapse and fall to 8th (or lower).

It's rare to see rookies who haven't played much, jump into the rotation for playoff teams and succeed. That said, Khaman Maluach and Rasheer Fleming are really producing for the Suns. Phoenix has a bunch of injuries and need minutes and the two rookies are providing them.

Collin Gillespie plays his heart out on every possession. That's amazing considering that this year he has played over 2 and a half times the number of minutes he played in his past two seasons combined (1,782 mins vs 686 mins).
