The BIP editors also need to be firm on what their role is. i.e. are they neutral, unbiased and apolitical facilitators of the process or are they judge and jury
They pretend to be the former but in practice they are far from apolitical

I finally added lazy evaluation with in the form of a `set lazy` setting, which can be used to skip expensive variable evaluations when not needed in the current run.

An experienced human who thought hard for a while and come up with X would have taking Y into account.
